You’ve stated that wrong. Nikon’s management and marketing that could learn from Sony. Nikon’s engineering is not their weakness and is not inferior to Sony.

I was wondering when someone was going to follow the bread crumbs. Making and leasing milling machines and licensing technology is more profitable in the long run than manufacturing, assembling and selling components wholesale. Yes, Sony does have some Nikon lithography equipment in its foundry as confirmed by many sources. Sony also cross licenses some Nikon technology. Nikon is not without technical resources and abilities. Nikon's engineers are very competent as has been proven over the years.
It is worth noting that Nikons lithography equipment has recently listed zero sales. That is correct absolutely no revenue generated by that division. This is likely the result of competition from other companies, and the Covid-19 crisis. In any case it is also an unhealthy division at this point.

Nikon has always had a problem putting merchandise on the shelves as far back as 1995 when Kenmar Camera in Great Neck, NY sold me a Canon because Nikon was on backorder.
Calumat never had the equipment my friend needed for his wedding business despite paying in advance.
Adorama is presently showing the 500PF on backorder.
You can't ring the register if you can't deliver your product and in this Covid-19 economy it is enough to push a financially struggling company over the edge.

As someone who didn't start using an OM-1 until long after they were out of production, I don't really understand why anyone would sell off Nikon gear because you think Nikon might go out of business.
I mean maybe you are concerned about service or something, but it's not like the D850 is going obsolete anytime soon. 45mp is a lot. Same for the D7200. It's not like a lot of manufacturers have gone past 24mp aps. Only Canon, really. And I was shooting an old Nikon lens a little while ago on Canon. Still works.
So, this guy's complaining because someone has $15k worth of Fuji gear, when they should really only own Nikon gear? This is the kind of non-sense I was talking about in another thread (or two).
Every single talking head on YT that only uses one brand or the other, or brand jumps every 1-3 years, is part of the marketing machine.
There's a long list of really great YT content, but none of it's brand-related. Two that I subscribe to:

Obviously they are not making them fast enough for current demand as they are not available lots of places, but the lens is out and a few FM members (Lance for one) have gotten copies of it. No doubt Nikon could do better with keeping up with the demand for this lens as well as the 300 and 500 PF lenses as well.
