I was a solid Nikonian ever since the D200 days having moved into a D300, D700 and D7100. I completely abandoned DSLR altogether for several years jumping around in the Olympus, Fuji and then Sony camp. I leaped into the R5 camp last year along with most of their top RF glass.
The Z9 gave me pause and I followed its progress till finally decided to consider having TWO wives IF the Z9 ends up being what I have a feeling it IS, I'll be adding a number of S glass to finish it out and may well sell off some of the RF glass to keep the R5 to a "travel camera" status for the most part since after all it is pretty portable. I noted B&H changed my order status from Backordered to "Coming Soon" so I'm thinking more than ever that indeed the 15th IS the date they get the goods.

Your comment is spot on. To be fully confirmed with proper back to back testing which to date I only see Fro having done and even then somewhat limited.
I'm not sure what "there are plenty out there from Sony with no citations" has to do with anything. Sites like PetaPixel are full of garbage articles about all brands.

Do you mean that on your account page with B&H your Z9 order shows as “coming soon” rather than “back -ordered”. If so that might be good news for you - still says “back-ordered” .

Why do you say only Fro? Do you think that Fro is the only reviewer who does proper reviews? I am one who respects his *in-depth* testing too. I also believe that several in the repository are good reviews. Do not have time to dig through them now. Must get back to my work.
I considered deleting the PetPixel review but folks had already commented on it. I decided I did not like the "outright passed them by considerable margin." phrase. It is not true. Each brand has features better than the other and it benefits us, the photographers

When I went to my email they sent me confirming the order from Nov 4th, I clicked on the item and it came up with a different status. I can't go into my account on their web site as it ONLY gives you what was ordered through the web. I pre ordered it directly on the phone with them.

Certainly Fro is not the only one that does proper reviews. He is just the only one I've seen so far that has done some comparisons to the competition. There will be lots of good reviews out there comparing the Z9 to past Nikon cameras but only a handful of ones that will compare to the competition (Fro, DPR, Steve Perry, Steve Mattheis and Mark Smith). Many Nikon shooters will only really care about how it stacks up to their other Nikon cameras but for me all I care about is how it stacks up against the A1, R5 and R3. Which I'll test myself anyways but still....
Yes 800mm Z lens will have development announcement alongside that 28-75 as per Nokishita and NRs. Good times!!

The only review worth watching imo, will be steve perry!! He takes thousands and thousands of picture and test the camera good. He owns a sony a1, so he will be able to compare both.

I'm placing a comment on his Z9 unboxing video. I would like him to test the autofocusing in video mode. How loud is it? Does its sound become recorded in the video? In the end, I also will be the one to decide what I do and do not like about the camera.
In the following video (at 2:45 and 3:04), they have a shotgun mic with a fake-fur sleeve over it..... mounted on the hotshoe. This leads me to at lease hope that I might be able to keep the mic on the hotshoe when doing short clips.

Steve is a class act. Fair, accurate, reasoned, thorough tester, great photographer, no drama for entertainment's sake.

Totally agree. One of the very rare youtubers that I can stand to watch the whole video on normal speed
Other reviewers may be good but there are far superior entertainments around, I don't need badly act comedy
when I watch camera review. At least we have enough choices of good reviewers with various styles to fit
our tastes

I still like the detail he goes into. Sent him a request to test Z9 AF to see how loud it is; i.e. can I hear it on the recordings I do, when the mic is on the hot shoe? I'll see if he does it.
