seems it is sissies that worry about the weight of the z9 so then they go buy the a1 then come back to the nikon forum to try and encourage everyone else to buy the little play thing
Not me, I’m a happy α1 user who is thrilled that Nikon have come out with a superb camera. I watched Polin’s pre-production review and I think that all those Nikon owners who clung to the company are now feeling vindicated.
Competition between the big three companies is good for all of us, they will push new technology to get ahead of the others.

There is NO countdown. I won't repeat it but I did a separate post regarding what I found out about delivery times of the Z9, and its very very bad indeed. So look for my post

The only review worth watching imo, will be steve perry!! He takes thousands and thousands of picture and test the camera good. He owns a sony a1, so he will be able to compare both.
If you like Steve Perry, you might want to check out Mark Smith.
The dude is such a great story teller, I love the way he narrates the photo shooting, his opsrey photos are simply another level.

I use to watch him until he switch to Sony . He did order a Z9, I might start watching him again! I didn't really like the way he narrated. He always use to say , oh amazing! He might have changed

wouldn't the focus noise be more lens related ?
Yuh, I hear you. Good point. His humor is not humor.
I still like the detail he goes into. Sent him a request to test Z9 AF to see how loud it is; i.e. can I hear it on the recordings I do, when the mic is on the hot shoe? I'll see if he does it.

So, I did some experimenting with various lenses and noise adjustments inside the D850. It turns out that you are right!

If it *is* released on the 24th, even those who get it first, will not get it until after Christmas. No biggy; I am not complaining. At least they'll know it is on the way. Well, likely not that too. Christmas Eve? I know Arbitrage; you brought this up before.
Hello Nikon.... Hello!
Why the 24th? I think December 24th was the latest date Nikon could set, to still get Christmas sales.
Then, why did they not advertise this one on TV? Too expensive? The unexpected sales from this Z9, may have been enough to afford it. But what do I know about that? Just throwing the thought out there.
I remember back in the day that Canon advertised SLR's on TV a lot.
Google "Canon AE-1 Televsion ads". There are a bunch of them.

I hate to tell you this Robert, as it may age you, but very few people watch TV today. The type of production required to pull off a TV ad is so expensive, that no camera company would gain enough sales/market share to make it worth wild. In contrast, Facebook Ads, Google Ads, and YouTube Ads reach more people and cost very little to produce.
Back in the day, Canon, Nikon, Minolta, and Pentax did on air TV commercials, but these were for high volume entry level to mid-level cameras.
While it might seem like there are "huge" sales of Z9 cameras, the number sold will probably be 1/5 (or less) than the number of Z50 or Z5 cameras. Only a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of photo pros, photo enthusiasts, and photo novices will be willing to spend $5500 on a large professional camera. Heck, I consider myself to be sitting between pro and advanced amateur nature photographer, and I am not willing to spend that much on a camera.

Had a chat with my shop in the UK and they don't have any of the FTZ II, 100-400 or Z9 yet. He knows they're on the way and is optimsitic about 23/24th next week but he said they get no clue at all from Nikon as to when they're getting products and how many until they open the box and it could easily be January.
Still, if they're optimistic then I shall stay optimistic. If Christmas movies taught me anything it's that Christmas miracles are far more likely if I believe in them
