I called my local dealer in Delhi, India and he said he’s getting all of his 7 ordered units on the 14/15, and that he will make it available the same day. It seems Nikon has 4,000 units ordered in India, which is a much smaller market. Let’s see how these galactic events unfold!

Is this in Mumbai? I just called my dealer in Cochin this morning and he informed me the Z9 will be available in the week of 20th December (somewhere around 24th). It was initially last week of Nov/ first week of Dec and then changed to 15th Dec and now 24th. I was also told the FTZ is not bundled with the Z9 but the Z9 comes with a bundled 256GB CF Express card. The FTZ II may or may not be available on the same day as the Z9 ships is what i am given to understand.

Yes.
15th is what i know from a dealer.
Yes FTZ isn’t technically bundled with it but it’s expected to be available around the same time, ie, when Z9 arrives.

I already collected the FTZ II from the store yesterday.

I still haven't had any solid news out of my dealer in the UK. About a week ago they said that they were expecting stock in mid-December but they hadn't received any confirmed dates. I'm at the top of their list so I have plenty of reason to be hopeful but I'd love a bit of official news out of them.

When the Z9 gets here...it gets here. I am on the waiting list at the local pro dealer but there is nothing I can do to change the delivery time.
Last time I checked, non of my scheduled games have been cancelled or postponed due to pending arrival of the Z9.
I would hope to test the Z9 that I ordered at the hockey arena and local gyms this winter for sports assignments but if I don't, baseball, softball and track will be here in late March/early April.
The D6 is doing just fine on indoor sports so the DSLR in the hand is better than 2 mirrorless in the bush.

400/2.8s had a developmental announcement earlier. May be it is going to be an official launch or announcement of the lens?

I did place a pre/pre order for the new 600mm f4s. Hopefully they will surprised us again and put an integrated 1.4tc like they did with the 400mm 2.8S . I am pretty sure they will do it. Nikon seems to be on 🔥 lately! Lots of cool lense coming out!

How did you place a pre-order for a lens that has not even been announced? I hope they are not holding your money.
