OK, does anyone know when the Canon fall rebate will be offered and what will be on it? I have heard October, and also have heard the 5D will have a $500 rebate. Can anyone confirm this?
Fall rebates are expected as usual, which products and how much is just a guessing game. Your guess is as good as anyones.
If there were to be some rebates on the 30D, it would be a no-brainer purchase for me. Unless of course the all elusive 40D (whatever they want to call it) comes out at the same time, but I am not seeing the same buzz about a possible mid-range camera that I saw for a rebel update. Couple of more weeks of waiting for more announcements from Canon, and I'm off to the local Best Buy for a 30D.

Yeah, but the goofy thing is I think someone picked it up and ran with it elsewhere: "a reliable source said...". Now THAT's funny!
What's sad is that it sheds light on how quickly rumors that play on people's hopes get spread. Kind of reminds me of playing "whisper down the lane" as a kid.

oh, I saw that, it wasn't the photo I edited. Mine was actually the bastard love child of a 5D and 30D, but you have to look close to notice. ;-)
Repeat after me... "There has been no announcement of a 40D. There is no solid information about a 40D. The 40D is entirely the product of someone's imagination."

Oh the poor souls having to do with just 45.... :-)
Personally I am using only 11 and do not feel the lust to go to 45 though I can do so at any moment.
I heard that canon is coming out with a better camera strap that actually takes all the weight from the camera and disperses it throughout your body even though it's around your neck. When is this strap coming out?

I'm nearly 40 but it does seem that a lot of people around here are 11 (or less) and I'm personally trying to retire at 45 but it will probably be more like 60..

Oh, for a custom function that would reduce my age to a mere 45! I'd even struggle with a personal function that had to be loaded from a PC for that reward!
When will Canon replace the eyepiece diopter adjustment with built in automatic Lasik surgery? I mean, I'd really like to be able to see outside the camera too!
I have three weddings booked this winter, and I'm considering the 5D, but if there was a possibility of a replacement body I would hold off untill spring.
So what is the considered opinion of "the collective", is there some chance Canon will announce something in Photokina ?
