I actually think opposite, that a decent amount of people should at least receive the first round. Not sure how the wait time is if you order the week of release. Or it might be that people are waiting for reviews etc. I should be getting mine on release date/week. (based in Canada)

I received a 'Backorder Status' email from B & H this morning letting me know that X-E5 is still out of stock. Maybe it was an automated email? Maybe a heads up that I'll be waiting a while? I was late to the party and didn't order until the third week in July.
I've been using Canon cameras for the last 15 years and recently went on a trip taking only my original EOS M (from 2012) and EF-M 22mm lens. I really enjoyed the kit for travel, and the X-E5 will be quite a nice upgrade. I ordered the silver, couldn't resist. It reminded me of my Nikon film cameras. I'm looking forward to stepping into the Fujifilm system.

I ordered pretty early on from BH Photo and got this email also. I am a bit disappointed in Fujifilm... Again. The whole manufactured scarcity thing is getting annoying. Sure it worked for for X100 V and VI, but I think people are invested enough now that they can just make a normal quanity of these cameras.

Fuji is by far the worst offender. If memory serves they manufactured approximately 200 X100 V's, accidentally shipped them to an abandoned warehouse in Wisconsin, and people would sell them 2 or 3 at a time as they found them. (I kid, sort of).

I haven't encountered it with Canon, but I never previously preordered a camera. I did in this case because of what I had read about Fujifilm's supply issues (and I wasn't sure if the tariff b-s would be a factor).

yeah pretty crazy other brands don't have this issue...I guess it speaks to the brand's interest right now from many. maybe they are trying to be cautious here. XE4 had problems with availability. Will have to see I guess in a few days we will know what the stock situation will be like.

I ordered a black X-E5 and XF 23mm f/2.8 R WR kit within the first 2 or 3 hours of the preorder opening up on B&H. Unfortunately without placing a call I can’t find the exact time on June 12th the order was placed. It’s not something the list on the order. It is on backorder as of August 12th. Have really zero visibility of how many they got from Fuji and where I stand in the queue. Really a terrible way to engage with your customers IMHO.

I would be surprised if you didn't get one! I think the silver ones will be a little tougher to get.

I have not received a shipping notice yet but B&H charged my credit card, meaning that the item is "processed for shipping", but that wording is ambiguous. I think it will ship today or tomorrow.

I doubt B&H wants to reveal how many customers have placed orders on its items relative to how many items it has in stock.
But even so, let's say you knew you were 500th in line and B&H has 50 cameras in stock.
How would this change your behavior? Would you cancel your preorder? B&H might stock another 200 cameras next week, and then 200 the week after that, or it might not stock any for the next 2 months. There's just no way to know.
