If you're planning to get the camera, the lens, or the kit, be ready to place your preorder as soon as it's live at B&H Photo or Adorama. While it's priced higher than previous X-E models, the X-E5 remains one of the most unique rangefinder-style digital cameras on the market. It now comes with IBIS and Fujifilm’s latest hardware, including the 40MP sensor and X-Processor 5.

I am ordering it. I like the X-E4 too much not to try the new release. I was hoping for a better EVF but it is what it is. The addition of IBIS will make it useable for video now. While it's definitely not worth the price value-wise, I'm sure it will be use-wise.

Fuji wants $1699 for this latest X-E5, body only? 😳
Yes, that was exactly my reaction when I first saw the price. I had every intention of picking one up, but it just feels like a bit too much for what the camera offers. I'm also not sure how the build will compare to the X-E4, which I used for almost a year. It was a fun and capable camera, but I never found it particularly robust...which felt acceptable at the $900 price I paid.
To be honest, I was ready to pre-order the X-E5, but the pricing made me pause. As much as I enjoyed shooting with the previous version, this might be the moment I step away from Fuji altogether.

Do we know the price outside of the U.S.? It might be less because AFAIK this includes the tariff.

Glad to see the X-E5 but might be a good time to get X-E4, mpb seems more reasonable.
One site seemed to say it's made in China, which could raise the price due to tariffs. As a ballpark 20% of $1700 is $340, but i can't tell you the exact numbers

Does it increase the quality of the images I take compared to my X-E3? No. I don't need 40MP. I don't need IBIS. I don't need a film simulation dial (or film simulations to begin with). An updated X-E3 with that cameras control layout but the new processor, improved AF, improved EVF - that's what I was ready to pay for.

Not known yet but we’ll find out in a couple of hours. If I use the Leica D-Lux 8 as a proxy than it should come in around 1.400€ in the EU. That would still be a 50% increase over the X-E4..

£1299 in UK, where pre Trump the £ price more or less matched the dollar price.
That's about 75% of Xt5 price, about right.
So presumably your other us prices will be higher when tariffs hit the new stock.

Too expensive for what it offers if you ask me. In particular the EVF feels like a major let down. For me 40 MP on APS-C is too much, but I understand that they probably need to do this because of the market expectations (probably not a lot of newer sensors at lower MP either).
