Just spoke with B&H and they said my orders (black kit and silver kit) will arrive Friday (I'm in Florida), which means they are shipping out today (it's always 2 day delivery for "expedited" for me from them). They charged my card this morning as well, the order status was "new order" yesterday (Tuesday) and now says "Order in Progress" (Wednesday). On announcement day, I got order confirmation for both kits (ordered separately) within 60 seconds of B&H going live if that helps. I ordered 7 minutes after launch for the X100VI and it took 2-3 months to receive once they started shipping.
In the past with other high demand Fuji releases, I've just called them and they were always able to tell me where I was in the queue as far as in this first round, or second round. Now that fluctuates based off of Fuji's distribution and people canceling pre-orders (say they got from another source first). So wouldn't hurt to hop on their chat feature and ask or call.

Ugh. This is the problem, a bunch of people buying two (or who knows how many) under the guise that they can't choose. They just want to dump one at a premium to cover the other. I'm sure there were plenty of scalpers on this launch too. It never ends.
I miss the days when you could just buy stuff. The internet has ruined so many things, lol.

Or, perhaps you could adapt to the situation and empower yourself by IMMEDIATELY ordering upon launch and get it first?
I blamed other people I couldn't get an X100V ... so I ordered within 7 minutes of launch to get the X100VI and still had to wait 3 months ... lesson learned ... so this time for the XE5 I ordered within seconds and appears it paid off.
Turn on Rage Against the Machine's "Take the Power Back" next Fuji launch and click that buy button asap and you'll be just fine.

For me personally, the few hundred dollars I might make from re-selling the camera probably isn't worth the effort.

That's a good question -- why can't Fuji just make enough cameras to meet demand, like every other company (except maybe Leica) seems to be able to do?

Guys ... regardless of the why, this is just how it is. If you snooze you loose.
The upside is that there literally is no other brand I know of than Fuji that holds their value on many cameras, let alone appreciates in value on many as well. I bought a Leica Q2 last year used at a great price, and it still dropped $1500 in value in 18 months! X100V's are still going for above their original MSRP on the used market. The fact that Fuji can't meet demand literally drives up the used prices = retaining value and or appreciate.
My advice is pre-order immediately EVEN if you aren't 100% on buying it ... then just cancel your pre-order the next day or week later after all the shill reviews come out and you change your mind.
Or just complain about the good old times and Fuji as a corp and scalpers and indecisive people and sit empty handed. It's up to you....

I already saw a XE-5 (unused/boxed) go up for $1775 (shipping included) in one of the Fuji FB groups cause the guy just wanted the 23mm lens as he bought the kit....... that's literally less than MSRP + Tax.
I imagine he won't be the only one just wanting the lens ... so keep an eye out and you could grab one in the next week even ahead of people who pre-ordered a day too late for Round 1.

Check what time you get the email confirmation, which would at least give you an idea. They opened at 6:00 am, and my receipt says 6:26 am.

I don't have a choice but to sit empty handed, Fuji has assured that. The fact is, this is a chronic issue with just this company. And I'll complain about it. Because that is also one of the things the internet is good for.

Sounds like they got less than 200 black kits. Theoretically I should make the second batch of 200 that should arrive to them in the next week. Oh well. Should question why I still want it since the mint used XT-5 I bought seems to be a great camera and does everything the X-E5 does and right now, with its reduced size, is my smallest camera. Sure it’s missing the Film Sims dial and is even smaller but not sure it’s missing anything else. We will see what happens over the next few weeks.

Glad you're enjoying. Form factor for me is the main reason I sold it for the X-E5. As I recall, I had either the front, top, or AEL button set to film sims. I set one of the other buttons to subject detection. I also set the Q-Menu down to just 8 tiles. It's one of the biggest issues I have with most new cameras. I rarely find enough things I need to set buttons and dials, so I end up assigning random stuff to them and forget what they are.

yes I agree on that last bit. Gave me a good laugh.
Keep an eye out on the buy sell here … “extra” XE5 bodies will start popping up and usually at much better than insane Ebay prices.
And I get the frustration. But I also really appreciate my Fuji depreciation doesn’t tank the first year (or two or three).

Mine comes tomorrow. I ordered body only because the reviews suggested the lens makes noises like the 100vi. Which i found annoying. I ordered the voigtlander 27mm f2 (stop faster and no concerns about fuji AF) instead. I have high hopes for the combo.
Time will tell.
