Best thing about 27mm Voigtlander and the 18mm is that it has a hard stop infinity focus. That's very useful

Mine comes tomorrow. I ordered body only because the reviews suggested the lens makes noises like the 100vi. Which i found annoying. I ordered the voigtlander 27mm f2 (stop faster and no concerns about fuji AF) instead. I have high hopes for the combo.
Time will tell.

^28mm equivalent is too close to 40mm equivalent for you? Really?
I have both voigts and they are superb.
The Sigma 10-18 2.8 is insanely small for what it is and perfect for ultra wide up to 28 Ff equivalent that might be worth checking out. I used it with an XT5 in Iceland in very wet scenarios and spat out some great images.

Yeah, I'm more a 20mm & 40mm guy. That's why the first two lens I picked up are the Viltrox 13mm 1.4 & 27 1.2. Unfortunately I just got a notice from Best Buy my camera is "delayed" so maybe tomorrow I can play with it

Both the black and silver camera versions are "in-stock" at b&h. I ordered a silver one a few minutes ago, and cancelled my previous order, which included the lens and is in "backorder". Hopefully they will ship my camera later today.

Please report back if you get a shipping notice.
I have heard that retailers get a certain quantity of units reserved for people who buy a protection plan. But if your's ships is before those that preordered, I might be a bit "annoyed".

Mine should be here in a couple of stops, forgot to cancel (said it was coming out 23rd August to be fair!), probably going back but let's see. Wanted to upgrade the X-E3 body for the xf35mmf1.4 but didn't think this would be the one because of the viewfinder (and lcd?) resolution being the same as the fookin' X-E3 from basically a decade ago.
Was thinking about x-pro4 when it comes out but I want something light. X-E3 + xf35mmf1.4 is like air, but no IBIS, tilting screen and the focus not quite there with the xf35mmf1.4. Tilting screen on this looks very clunky from the videos.
Who knows, what other option is there for a modern lightweight interachangable lens body for Fuji lenses... it's coming with the lens too but I'll be selling it to recover some cost if I do end up keeping the camera, have the x100vi already.
Only other lens I have other than the kit 18-55 for fuji is the 56mmf1.2 original but I'm fine with that on the X-E3. Looks like a baby chunka too, funny looking with the hood on backwards, works well enough.

I saw this as well. Ordered the camera by itself, and it's set for arrival tomorrow. Crazy that this pancake lens is proving to be such a bottleneck.
My pre-order is sitting there on backorder, and I might cancel it, but if you can't beat em, join em I guess. Perhaps I can flip it later if it does ship.
I ended up snagging some used Fuji lenses which will likely out-perform the pancake anyways.

Update: Now bodies are outta stock on B&H.
B&H must be playing Hide & Seek with these it appears. Why any would have ever been in stock before all appropriate preorders where shipped is a game someone is playing. I know from talking directly with B&H that they did not have enough of the kit I ordered to even cover the preorders already on the books. We will see if the next shipments arrive any time soon.

Funny, you were just criticizing flipping the camera yesterday...

First impressions are the feel of the buttons are top notch, switch to turn-on has much better resistance than the x100vi which I had to play with and still isn't as good.
The rotating screen is fine unless you want to flip it all the way around then it is a bit clunky but can probably be learned. Exposed cable though so be careful.
Generally feels nice except a little sharp near the bottom where your second finger rests. X-E3 is cushioned and smooth there whereas this has a sharp edge. X-E3 didn't need a thumb rest, this does or a half case maybe? I tried it with the thumb rest from my x100VI and it doesn't go all the way in but immediately it was better because I don't have my ring finger supporting the camera on a sharp edge.
Focus is still hit or miss with the xf35mmf1.4, in af-c at least, not much improvement there, it's probably the lens but that first reaction is that it defeats the point for me personally, but I'll hold on for a little while longer.
I'm sure whoever picks this up will really like it. I'd suggest getting a thumbrest specifically for it though.
That new lens is sooo small.
-- Edit: It's a little sharper ridge there but I think it's the weight of the camera that makes me feel the need to support it with the ring finger (without a thumbrest), and with that weight on the finger, it feels sharp for me.

Only a little surprised that body-only silver cameras are available. If I wanted a body and knew I didn't want the 23mm, I'd still order the kit. Especially if I wanted silver. How many small Fujis would that be perfect for? The lens will go for at least $400 for months or years. The X-E5 at $1499 net instead of $1699 would be great. In my case, though, I want the 23mm. So I can just play the game in my head that I bought a $499 lens and a $1200 X-E5. It just feels better that way.
