Congratulations, man! I received my copy last week and have also been waiting for over half a decade for this lens! I absolutely love it! Especially, with the TC!

Thank you very much! They are fascinating indeed! I really enjoy shooting them in my yard. I have their favorite perennial flowers (bee balm and cardinal flower) but I also spend a couple hundred dollars every year on annual flowers (mostly black and blue salvia, vermillionaire cuphea) they like. I grow some of them in pots so I can move them around to get cleaner background and better light. Too bad we only have the ruby-throated hummers here and only for 5 months.
Well the photos are certainly worth the effort you put into this ... They are beautiful. I wish we had more hummingbird species here in New England. They seem to be non existent this summer,as I haven't seen many. Could be the heat as it's been an unusualy hot summer. Take care
