Excellent shots Douglas! What show are these from?
Thank you Robert! These were from the show in Latrobe, Pa. The lineup was pretty meh... I took someone who had never seen an F-35 to the show. Otherwise I wouldn't have driven a total of 7 hours for this show. We will have a show with slightly better lineup in Maryland this weekend, then the biggie at Oceana, Va next month.

Keeping this thread alive--from yesterday in Virginia Beach.
Fun comparison...I got into position and had the 2x on, took some shots and then decided to take the TC off and hope for a flight shot opportunity. It gave me a chance to take two very similar images from the exact same location and see how the bare lens compares to the lens/2xTC when posted for web.

A little difficult to see differences on my phone. How do the originals compare?

Is it please possible to share a bigger version of the pictures with and without the TC ? it's a very interesting comparison, a real world use case. I'm curious to see the details on my 5K (Apple studio) monitor.

See if this works...I uploaded the full sized images (after cropping) to Flickr with private setting.
I'd say at the smaller upload size they look very similar. When viewing at the full size you can see the 600mm shot holds up better.
Both photos are run through LR Denoise AI at a "35" setting. I equalized the brightness as the TC shot needed 1/3 stop brightness added even though the exposure was the same. This could have been a slight change in light levels but I actually think the Sony 2xTC robs about 2 1/3 stops of light and not just the 2 stops we think it should.
