Any estimates when adobe will have a profile for this camera? Pretty annoying that I can't edit my photos in Lightroom on my new camera (unless there's a work around?)
Comes with the joy of early adopter lifestyle 😎 It can take some time before editing apps include newly released camera and lens profiles.

"buy the cam that makes sense today and not what you hope for from Sony"
Good advice ! Camera's are a weird business where for some reason people "expect" updates after the sale. Or if a new feature is introduced they expect say a higher priced body to instantly get that feature. Bug fixes make sense of course. Also if the company tells you up front something will be added. But adding new features that were just not there when you bought the camera I just never understood the complaining. I understand the disappointment/frustration but very few other industries give you upgrades for free after you buy something knowing full well what it has and has not. There is always going to be something new in any newer camera release. If not no one would ever upgrade. Delaying my departure for NY till my dang UPS guy shows up with my RV ...Show more →
Cameras are now electronics equipment. We expect upgrades to our Macs and iPhones.

I ordered the Sony screen protector from B&H - at the time of ordering it was "out of stock" -- it still shipped a few days later. Easy to install as well.

Buy a Samsung then you will not need updates
If it doesn't come with what you want that's no ones fault but your own. There are so many good camera's across brands it's just ludicrous to buy a camera that doesn't meet your needs then complain about not getting an update

I think most complain because some other camera comes out after their purchase with a feature they don’t have. In other words, envy more than real need.

Sure of course. But I also think it's a generational thing.

Don't wait until they are back in stock, you'll be in the back of the line....in fact it may not go in stock for a while if they are filling backorders. It was in stock a few hours before it went out of stock again, so there is definitely demand...

Okay let's plow through on folks thoughts.
I never thought I would care much one way or the other--but I have to say I am really liking this flippy screen! Easy enough to "put away" for those who are offended , but it's also there ready to jump into action if you need or want it. Worried about possible screen damage/scratch while in the bag? Just flip the screen around and all safe and sound.
Lots of flexibility/angles--something I will have to get used to and not forget to use to my advantage. After so many years without such a swivel-flippy, I'll need to remind my muscle memory to swivel-flippy.
The new #1 Main menu display is very nice too. I can see this being very useful.
Now where is that new Sony firmware update vis SD card feature 😎 👍🏼

I believe it has the update via SD card feature, just not for lenses.

I just updated my A7IV with my SD card actually my CF express card I went 1.01 to 1.05 to 1.10. But need to update my 70-200 II. I will use my A7IV to do that tomorrow
Im looking forward to the swivel , devel, nevel screen. Need a better name. Robot 1,0. I actually have need for it off of shooting verticals and loads of them from a monopod. If I look down to long I may fall asleep

Looks like Sony put a lot of thought into this swivel screen. Or maybe they just brought back one of the original Sony Amount swivel screen designers from retirement. Sony used to have a great swivel screen. Now it's back! Lots of possibilities here.

Some things I really am looking forward too is the AF tracking, it sounds like I won't lose people when they turn on me. Maybe my top 5 reasons to go for it. Second is I can still use electronic shutter with minimum roll in APSC mode that might have sold me right there(credit to someone on this thread that mentioned that). 3 is im back to 61mpx which I like to test lenses but hey 50mpx was good too. Lens stabilization was up there . Finding out it did have anti flicker and variable shutter which are only on the newest models A9II, A1 its on my A7rV as well. Im in heaven on that one. Fighting LED banding is tough enough. Lower mechanical noise on shutter. Same setup as my A7IV with buttons, and placements. I may not even know what camera I have in my hands. I love that sameness. I love the top right dial now's I can put focus area on that and lock it down. See I did my homework.
Plus some other things . The one thing I lost was 1/400 flash sync. But not the biggest deal. One thing I realized was full HDMI input which when I shoot live in ballroom I may not need my computer and be tethered I can just go to ballroom HDMI production booth for big screens. That alone maybe huge for me. I will have more to talk about Tuesday. It's coming in hot like overnight. I also saved the tax man . Plus I am at less financial risk . Drove me crazy when I had Medium Format Phase backs. Thats a lot of money to hit the deck
Important but my A1 is going to a nice member and I like its finding a new home. I did love that cam, no question but Mama wanted new shoes too. Happy wife happy life.
