Also having the A7IV am I mistaken to see it almost looks identical in buttons and such. I’m really liking the IV

Just mugged my UPS guy.
It certainly is not as recessed that's for sure but not seeing it as an issue. Would I prefer all the goodies in an A7r body. Sure! Will have to wait till I get to the hotel tonight to set it up and play around with it.

It’s very similar to the A7IV. Use this to compare the two or the A1. Great tool. It’s as wide as the A7IV but thicker like the A1

I have both and they are identical twins re: button layout
Because of the monitor thickness of the 5, the joystick base is taller so the joystick is flush with the monitor
The 5 has a locking Mode button on top (works the same as the one on the EV Comp wheel)

took the 5 out snowshoeing today. For me, the slightly taller joystick works slightly better ... I use it a lot w/ Expanded Spot focus.
Everything else felt the same. I had no ergonomic handling issues with the LCD. Have not used on a tripod yet.
Notice my A74 screen protector? the 5 screen protector is back-ordered with B&H and I wanted something on it.
