Roberts Camera in Indy just called and said my Z9 and new adapter is in and will be in my hands by Tuesday.
I wasn't expecting my camera until spring or summer and possibly fall since I didn't pre-order back in the spring.
I have basketball, ice hockey, bowling and gymnastics coverage scheduled for this coming week so Z9 will be thrown into revenue service as soon as battery is charged.

Just curious, when did you pre-order?
I have a pre-order in with Roberts and a few other places so just wondering where I might be in their queue.

Day it was announced in fall of 2021
Gotcha. Mine was the day after. I'm not expecting it until Feb or March at the earliest but it's good to hear the ones from the announcement day are being shipped out.

Yes, he augmented his video to test for the jpg basic as second file on the same card, distortion correction off (as Nikon specify) but his conclusions were still wrong. Other people have verified that Nikon's claims regarding buffer improvement are accurate.
Granger finally figured out the reason for his results: he was using the atomos recorder which takes up camera resources and causes the burst depth to be reduced from what is obtained in normal still camera use without recording.

I got my Z9 Friday evening. I can’t tell you much but it is fast and feels like a tank. AF and stickiness is much better than my D500 or D850. When shooting at 20 fps I feel think what the heck am I going to do with all of these files………………..

I haven’t gone up to 20fps. Feel like 10 is enough of a headache for culling.

This is my impression also. The 6ii feels like a toy in comparison. Cant wait to play.

Did they give you a delivery date or some sort of actual message too?
My card wasn’t charged, I don’t think. They did give me an estimated delivery date of later this month, but I’m wondering if that’s just a guess, not a “we have it and it’s on the way”.
I ordered three minutes after orders went live.

I just called the camera store where I'm on a waiting list and they told me that they will be fulfilling NPS orders only for the next couple of months and that non- NPS will be pushed back until "March or April." I'm trying to decide if I want to call around to other stores or not.
