but at least there is good communication between my Pro dealer and Canon Norway.
Yes, it's been frustrating for some of us in the US as well, waiting without any delivery estimate, being pushed down in
favor of the pros. Not complaining about the pros getting the z9 ahead of us, but at least some delivery estimate
by Nikon, based on order date for non-NPS would have been nice. That's why I set a deadline in my mind.
Of course, once the z9 becomes more widely available, and the 800 PF is out, I hope to check them out then.
It is an exciting camera body no doubt.

Nikon NPS email re shipping-
"In our continued effort to keep you informed as it relates to the Z 9 shipments, we are happy to report that all NPS priority orders received by 12/19/21 are in process and should be on their way to retailers later this week.
Anyone that submitted a priority request between 12/20/2021 and 1/3/2022 will be processed no later than early next week."

If there is any comfort; NPS members in Norway are in the same situation 😕. One can get the impressive that Nikon prioritize other countries 🧐.

I received this answer from Nikon Europe:
« All dealers who we have a contract with will be receiving first batches in December.
Further batches will be made as we progress into the new year.
Kind regards»
My Nikon Pro dealer still haven’t received their first Z9….

Still crazy to me to think that just because an NPS member placed an order two months after somebody that ordered within the first hour that they would still get their camera before them. I don’t agree with that at all. I can understand a week after the launch but two months Come on. Very disappointing news.

Back, when this whole thing started, this entered my mind: When it comes time to produce the plastic card, some (probably many) will not be able/willing to go through with the purchase.
And you know the rest: The camera is offered to the next person in line.
Do ya'll have thoughts on that?
I clearly remember, years ago, when Beach Camera or Samy's called me and told me that "my" 200-400 was finally in. I had ordered it. It was a Saturday and I was walking in a local supermarket when I answered the phone. Funny, the things you remember.
Anyway, in a gracious way, I thanked them for calling and told them that I would have to let it go to the next person. It's was no biggie at the time because by the time the call came, I did not want that lens.

You are looking at this wrong. What this means is after next week ALL cameras go to non-NPS. That should be received as excellent news. They only started shipping right before Christmas (2 weeks).

It's good to hear Nikon's taking care of their pro customers.
In 9 more days, if I don't get a z9, Arbritrage will probably be one of the few FM-ers with both Sony a1 and Nikon z9.
I'll bail after this round and either sell my z9 if it eventually gets delivered in Feb/Mar or cancel the order.
Down to 1 Nikon lens at this time, in preparation.
But for real .. happy to hear Robert and others getting their z9 soon. Looking forward to many images from around the world.
Maybe...but I'll likely bail by the end of January if I don't have it by then.
Hopefully it will all work out and my dealer will fulfill his leftover NPS orders this week. Then I'm next in line (supposedly).

I agree that it is good news that all NPS members will have their cameras after next week. What I don’t agree with is the NPS guy that decided a week ago and place their order will get their camera next week when I placed my order 25 minutes after the launch and still may not get it till who knows when. Just doesn’t seem right.

That is true but doesn't change the fact that if these lazy NPS members ordering months after announcement weren't being prioritized those of us that committed day 1 would have our cameras now.
I'm totally fine with NPS priority to an extent but people ordering in January prioritized over day 1 customers rubs me the wrong way.(remains to be seen for sure but seems that way unless Nikon has a big allotment ready for both non-NPS and these late NPS orders next week) .

I wonder how many of these NPS people had no interest in this camera until they saw how much they were selling for on eBay. I’d be willing to bet some of them figured they could make a quick buck by flipping them. That really pisses me off.

I would guess the number who ordered after the first week is extremely small. Probably not worth thinking about.

Well...at least until the next email comes out stating "all NPS priority orders received by 1/24/22 will be processed no later than early next week".

How many are on eBay? I see 4. Again, not really worth worrying about. Could be dealers or stolen. Let’s be careful about pointing fingers.

Ouch 😁
Guess everyone should join NPS

I know some NPS members that make almost all of their income from sources unrelated to photography. I placed a deposit for a Z9 with a local camera store on April 1st (no joke), and I am still waiting for my Z9 while they fulfill orders from NPS members... It's not the fault of the local camera store (which is a great store, btw). I have no problem with the fact that professional photographers get to cut in line. It is all of the other NPS members that bother me. This is not a recent phenomenon.
