Thanks for your reply. I agree most of what you say that time will let me forget about this. But a forum is a forum. This is a place to exchange thoughts. No, a single feedback is useless most of the time. Company reads feedback on the internet, that's what they really care about.
I’m sure they don’t read this thread or care. NPS always have first priority to new products since the beginning of NPS.
Otherwise, why would there be NPS?

Please explain to me why it matters if Nikon ships NPS cameras directly to NPS members or if it ships NPS cameras to dealers to sell to NPS members. How can one distribution approach be better for you than the other. In your preferred approach, Nikon would first send all/most cameras directly to NPS members and dealers would receive few/no cameras until the NPS cameras are fulfilled. How is this better for you than the current system? Please, do explain.
Why would it not matter? Simple facts need to be explained. OK. Please read:
A bunch of people are waiting in line to buy an air ticket for their Thanksgiving holidays. This airline is their preferred airline, ok. The airline also have membership program for those silver class customers. Although we know silver class always has the privilege to get the ticket (or even the priority to get seated), no one should be happy with a man cut in the line in front of you by saying " sorry, I am silver member".
If you are silver member, please go to the silver member window. Isn't it simple?
I guess you are NPS member. If you are, yes, NPS member has the priority, it's NIKON's job to handle it in a better way. Again, in the future! You still will get the priority, but why do you have to cover apparently a flawed operation for NIKON?

Easyshot, I agree with you 100%. As I wrote in an earlier post, I have all of the gear to qualify for NPS but I don't earn any income from my photography. That fact excludes me from being NPS. There's probably many others in the same situation and we would just hope for a better distribution system. I called Nikon yesterday to check on the status of my order and I was told that there was no update. He then asked me if I was NPS. That got me thinking that if I was NPS would that mean you would ship my camera to me right now?

No, they wouldn’t ship your camera right away if you were NPS. However, if you were, they would tell you that if you’ve preorder one before Dec 19, you will get your Z9 before mid January.

NPS do in fact have their own waiting line. Not sure where you just made up that NPS are cutting the regular buyers line. If you’re NPS and you order the camera today, you will be placed at the end of the NPS line.

Nikon handles these members directly, why not their orders and delivery?
No, I deal with my dealer directly and support small, local camera shops. I don't "deal" with NPS except for repairs, and often I let my dealership deal with NPS instead of me.

Don't you read my post and the topic? You know I am referring this delivery "short cut" thing is directly handled by NIKON. I do not oppose NPS service nor the NPS membership.

Oh is it? who said if you’ve preorder one before Dec 19, you will get your Z9 before mid January? When do you think those non NPS members' order can be delivered if they put order on Dec 18? And you call this is not a "short cut"?

I don’t care for your whining and crying. Like I said, if you really want one, I’ll put mine up for $9000 on eBay.

This is just not worth the discussion. You keep changing your argument. Nobody is cutting in front of you. That camera you are drooling over has my name on it from NPS when it arrives at the dealer. The dealer got it because I asked NPS to send it to the dealer. Otherwise the dealer would not have received it. It was never up for grabs. Get it. Either way. 2022 is here and I hope getting a Z9 remains your biggest problem in life.

From my understanding Nikon did a press release in Japanese that stated 3,500 units per month of production. Ricci states the "official" number is 3,500 units per month.
Nope, a Japanese article by Nikkei made this claim, but it isn't an official Nikon statement.

It was you that asked for an explanation. My argument with the silver member air ticket window is just for you to understand what NIKON should be handling this. It seems that you are irritated when some one brought this issue. I don't care who is NPS member or who cut it in front of me. Common, it's about Nikon. I don't have a problem at all without a z9 body but I feel sorry about your madness.

Nikon must support both its NPS members who pay for benefits that include priority on new products,it must also support its dealer network and not directly compete with them.
What Nikon is doing makes perfect sense in this context.
Key phrase: "...... not directly compete with them."
The Nikon Authorized Dealer realizes a profit from the Z9 that Nikon NPS sends to it. Is that right?

What I don’t get about all this NPS whining is Nikon USA has said all NPS orders will be delivered by mid- January. Which means in 2 weeks NPS will be a non-issue and all Z9s will start going to non-NPS customers. Is a 3 week wait worth this level of animosity? I would think this would be welcome news for everyone, especially given the current supply chain shortages.
And in regards to Nikon NPS distributing via the Nikon USA store, or through dealers, who cares. Given Nikon is prioritizing NPS orders made through 12/19 (which is how they have always prioritized NPS orders) their choice of distribution channel has zero impact on non-NPS members. But, it does have an impact on the dealers, and that is why Nikon does distribution via dealers. It would be horrible for Nikon to say to its dealers “hey, we are going to offer priority delivery to your customers but only if they buy directly from us, so sorry for your lost sales.”
How Nikon handles NPS members is correct in my opinion. You can’t buy your way in (unlike Canon). You have to be a paid professional photographer. I didn’t have a problem with it before I was an NPS member and I don’t have a problem with it now. There are a relatively small number of NPS members (because you can’t buy in) and therefore this is much ado about nothing.
It is all the false rumors about 700,000 preorders and no shipments till October 2022 (like in the above video) that have caused all the angst. If folks would just avoid all the fake news and put the Z9 in perspective in regards to the real issues we all face, the wait would be much easier to endure.
