This camera will flop and will be one of canon's least successful dslr's
the lens is interesting. its massive, and expensive, but definitely interesting. would be cool to see some test and samples.
IMO Canon's installed base of 5DM2 users is too large for this camera to be a flop by any objective measure. I think the introduction price is a bit high and so it may not hit its volume stride until the price comes in closer to the 5DM2's original price point.

Bummer, I am disappointed with the confirmed specs for ISO range and lack of mention for increased DR but I am willing to withhold final judgment until I get my hands on some RAW files. There isn't much reason for me personally to upgrade from a 5DII if DR and ISO performance is not dramatically increased. Looks like I may be looking at a Nikon D750 or D8XX in the near future, if only I could use my L lenses on Nikon :P

The limited iso range to 6400 is fine for my landscape shooting and leads me to believe that they biased this camera to perform better at low iso and probably have thicker CFA and better colors than 5d3 and more like my good old 1ds3.
Any mention about better weather sealing like 7d2?
Any mention about taking 3rd party OVF screens or Canon Ee-s for better manual focusing of fast lenses like my Otus 55?

This is not a video camera. It was never intended to be from all the information that leaked the past three weeks. This announcement confirms that. It's marketed directly to studio / landscape shooters with the 5DIV as their better video offering.

I think in the case of DR, the benefits are pretty clear. Certainly something that everyone would rather have more of than less, in any situation.
Most of the arguing on forums is due to the confirmation bias, IMHO. Nobody wants to hear their chosen product is inferior in any way. You hear Canon users downplay DR the same way Nikon users used to downplay the usefulness of a FF sensor pre-2007. Goes both ways.

This is either intended for a specific niche (studio shooting), or it's an EPIC fail.
Canon is grasping at straws when it comes to sensor technology. They're trying to mask this weakness in every possible way that they can. The specifications for this body don't cause my heart to flutter in any way. If this is all that Canon has left they're going to lose a lot of loyal followers. I see very little true innovation coming from Canon any more.
But I'll wait until the final reviews come in before I pass final judgement.

Wow, really great camera prices. Based on the 5D3 I was expecting $4500 range.
11-24/4 is a little higher than I would've thought. It's a lot wider than the 14-24/2.8 but it's also a stop slower; I was thinking maybe $5-600 more expensive, not $1000. I'm sure it's worth it, though. 11mm full frame with a >1' MFD? Gonna be able to create some wild effects.
As I've mentioned in other threads, I'm very suspicious about the SNR [even at low ISO] of these tiny little pixels, but I'm open to being proven wrong on that. No, my main disappointment with these specs is the damn LCD. The same 720x480 panel everyone's been using since 2008 AGAIN?! At some point live view is going to become so useless that they'll need to either just drop it or switch to a decent LCD panel. I thought 24mp was that point, but here we are at 50...

5Ds.... I'll pass. Interested to see what Sony will release now that they know the competition (or lack there of...). Too bad they couldn't be pushed more by Canon.
