That's really personal. If you use Lightroom go through your catalog by focal length. That said the pseudo crop will do and realistically how big are you going to print? Obviously there's more to it with compression and whatnot but. My 35l is almost always glued to my 5d2 anyway.
Marten, that's my fault. Working on a sharpening script and it wa the first night so they were jog. The output of that cam (bearing in mind what it is) can be outstanding.
Carsten...good to see you - you thinking of an rx1? I'm guessing not given your Leica gear?

Wayne, so you have received your EVF now? How do you like it? Does it lag or does it keep up with your movements?

Im am serious about getting one of these, but can real owners answer a few of my questions
Is the 35 to restrictive at times, or are you pretty happy with the FL for what you shoot?
Is the macro mode pretty good?
Happy with the IQ and iso? I see different images and not really sold on it yet, but I know could be many factors
Thanks! Phil
Even before I got RX1 I used 35mm for almost everything I shoot, so that works really well. When traveling light I plan to use my RX100 the few times I want some other focal lengths. We're off to Sweden tomorrow and I'll leave my Canon gear at home for the first time since 2008... It'll be very interesting to see how that goes.
I have had a couple of other small cameras (Olympus E-PL2 and Leica X1), but they didn't work out for me because I felt they were too much of a compromise and I always wished that I had brought 5D instead, so I ended up selling them after a few months. With RX1 there's no image quality compromise at all and I really enjoy shooting with it, so I think there's a good chance that this will work out.

New RX1 owner here. I had been itching for a small sized, full format, fixed lens camera for years. I had the M9, M9-P, suffered the same frustrations that many other owners endured from these $6k+ cameras. I think this RX1 has the potential to give the new Leica M a run for its money, I may just spend my deposit for it on something else in the future. We shall see... in the meanwhile I'll give this new small camera a whirl, expect a lot of shots from me in the coming week as I am travelling the FLL/MIA area and Key West. Cheers!

So far I really like the EVF and am glad i got it. It doesn't lag and keeps up with a quick pan movement. Haven't used any other EVF's so I can't compare to any other EVF's.
Switches from screen to EVF pretty quickly too when putting up to your eye.
Works well in low light too.
I bought the EVF off Sony site and used their $100 off credit by signing up for CaptalOne Sony card which makes the EVF price a little less steep.
Need to get a case for this camera which fits when EVF is attached. Any ideas?
Look forward to your trip images and hope you have good weather for it.

Great to see some of these pics you are all posting. This camera looks to be a very good performer.... If it was $1k less, I would pick one up right away. In general, how are the files to work with?

Booooring! I don't like photographing indoors, but I might make an exeption to capture my brand new Gibson Les Paul that I bought yesterday on pure impulse. It was so freaking good that I just couldn't go home without it.

Of course it is restrictive, but personally I find it an advantage. I know that I take better pictures when I have to adapt my thinking to not being able to choose.
Is the macro mode pretty good?
I have no idea since I seldom or never do closeups of that sort. Sorry.
Edit: But the fact that the lens is sharp from corner to corner wide open at ~0.7 meters (testing the new copy for decentering) is really outstanding.
Happy with the IQ and iso? I see different images and not really sold on it yet, but I know could be many factors

Yes, despite that I barely have even tried to stop the lens down or go below ISO 1600, it looks awesome. I shoot everything wide open since it's very dark outside over here at this time of year, and I like what I see. I don't think you can get the same nice bokeh from any lens in this focal lenght, no matter how expensive.
But of course, some might say it lacks character, and I can partially agree. However, the smooth rendering makes the Sonnar very versatile. You just don't have to worry about busy backgrounds and I think it's a very convenient lens for what the camera is.

Not really at this price point. I might pick one up one day when they come down in price quite a bit, if the EVF can be found cheaper as well. I did sell all my Leica M gear some time ago. I just wasn't using it after buying the D3.

I believe this is called a "honey burst", which is a variant of sunburst. It's brand new but manufactured in 2011; a Les Paul Standard from Gibson. It plays and sounds wonderfully and I think it has been hanging in the store because of the not so perfect match between the two halves of the split maple top.
Edit: At this distance, I can see no "3D" at all from the Sonnar. It seems to work better at medium long distances (~2-5 meters). None the less, sharpness is great as well as colors. Mind you, this was shot under ~2500K lighting in my livingroom.
