I'm really looking forward to checking out your RX1 images in this thread. It's exciting to see shots taken with this new camera that's now available in Japan and will be coming to the US soon. Let's keep the focus on sharing images and discussing the image quality. Please refrain from posting unrelated complaints about usability or any negative comments about why the camera might not be your preference. Let's keep the conversation centered on showcasing the IQ and sharing our images.

I just stumbled upon an RX1 and immediately bought it since it seems sold out everywhere. Unfortunately the weather is terrible (snowstorm), but I had to try it. And no doubt, this is a Zeiss lens.
ISO 1600 and f/2, JPG with no PP (standard profile).

Soon enough Carsten! I'm currently setting the camera up to work properly with MF and stuff. It seems to be lots of more possibilities for it to work like I want it to than I thought.

It looks quite good and Zeissy, but also nothing special, or? I mean, this camera costs almost three times what I paid for my 35/1.4 ZF.2, and loses a stop, so unless size is that important, I don't see the point for someone whose already got the ZF.2.

But of course! No one in their right mind would by this camera if it wasn't for the small size. Still the lens draws beautifully and I can't say that I'd rather have used the 35/1.4 even if I was on a tripod (which I wasn't).

the whole point of the camera is that size is important, isn't it? also, it comes with a decent camera and is cheaper than the ZF combo with any FF camera, but that is a discussion for the other thread...

Nice Makten.
I also own the 35/1.4 (ZE) and my impression is that the lens on the RX1 generally renders more "depth", a different look. I like it.
Based on other examples I've seen so far the 35/1.4 ZE/ZF seems to have better detail/ micro-contrast when shooting stopped down at infinity.

Martin, would you say that the RX1 lens renders somewhere between the ZF.2 35/2 and 35/1.4?
