Yes I'm very happy with this lens, not exactly with the weight and size. But in this case size matters.
It is beside the VS 100-300 my second best Zeiss zoom lens. I own also the VS 28-85 (which is an excellent lens), but I see some more "Zeiss look" in the pictures with this lens.

Maybe it is interesting to see some non macro examples:
