So if I read this right, if I buy a 5D, a 24-70, and a 70-200 2.8.
I'll get 400$ off of the 5D. 200$ off of the 24-70. 200$ off of the 70-200.? (of course this is the Canadian promotion, I know it's not in America (yet maybe hopefully soon?!)
Heck, the way I read the Canadian rebate,
Buy a 5D with the 24-105 kitted, and another lens, you'll get 400$ off of the camera, and 200$ (saying I buy the 70-200 2.8) off of that lens.
I may convince the fiance I need to buy the 5D with the 24-105, along with the 70-200, and 24-70. Sell the 24-105 and make my whole kit even cheaper.
This is of course if the US gets those rebates. This may turn out to be very good on my part. A camera, 2 new lenses and some debt! But look at the money I saved!

I have a feeling the rebate is not going to be double like the Canadian rebate.
The Canadian 5D shows $200/$400, Ben mentioned $300.
Could it be a double rebate at $300/$600 ?
Now I'm dreaming.....
Darn it! I don't see it has the 24-105mm lens, except with the 5D kit, which I already has the 5D. Oh well, I have to watch the Craigslist for those who bought the kit and unload the lens later - or sooner
BTW, the B&H already posted those items with rebate coupons...wish I can rob the bank, NOW

The way it looks is that BH only has their rebates with the printers, and I think it's a BH rebate, not a Canon rebate (look where the rebate info goes to, it BH).
If I buy it kitted with the 5D, you'll know of at least one for sale :P

Naw, your wrong, Adorama has it too, that's where I bought my 40d, it goes to Arizona or something, different PO box, for the different dealers. But I never wanted to buy a printer, but for $120 after rebate, I could not pass it up. I would rather have $200 off the kit that I bought though.

Just letting you guys know that rebates are on the way. Lenses and bodies. 5D gets $300, the 40D is on there as well. Some of the typical lenses are on it. 85L, 35L, 70-200mm 4 IS, 70-200mm 4, 580EX, 430EX, etc. This is not a complete list... just some of the standouts.
see what happens to those who make announcements before Mr.CANON says its ok to make announcements! They are instantly whacked! And never to be heard from again!
Whatever! I really don't understand a price increase followed by a rebate.
That's an easy one. Canon gets more money while making you feel like you spent less. How? Many are enticed into buying with a rebate but a large percentage either don't bother to submit or screw it up (forget docs, miss deadline, etc.).

Nah, he's not dead. He was just using the wireless internet on his prototype 5D2, and the card crashed. Just waiting for new firmware.
Seriously, it makes sense that they are coming this month. Probably towards the end, rather than the beginning. As someone else said, price increase, THEN rebates. Makes business sense, and makes me want to buy because of the "sale".
However, let's just say the guy was messing with us. get online, post a thread, hop on out and see what happens the next day by the time he wakes up. Sort of like a divine comedy.
I doubt the 35L is going to be on the list. If you look back at all the past rebates the 35L was never on the list. thedigitalpicture.com has a history of all the rebates if you're interested to see what past lenses have been included.
But then I did just buy the 35L so it would make sense that it'd be part of the rebate. Not complaining about just purchasing a 5D though because I got it new for $1825 from a seller on here and digitalgrin.com.
These are instant rebates, not double rebates. I don't know the exact start date, but I did see the form briefly so I was able to remember a few numbers...
