That's a pretty hummer, Zane. Where I am we have only one type, the ruby-throuted hummers.
There are three types that show up in the Sangre de Cristos
Broad-tailed ( which look very much like the Ruby Throated birds)
Rufus, the orange guys, they show up at the end of June/ first of July. They are very aggressive and will do everything they can to keep a feeder to themselves.
And a few Calliope, they are the smallest of the hummers, they have cute little 'beards' of red. they are timid and quick, so they are harder to spot.
Just returned from a day at American Legend Aircraft. We weren't able to do any air to air due to a number of logistical challenges, but we shot the heck out of five new aircraft that rolled off the line this week. We are planning a series of air to air flights in the very near future, one will be a new "MOAC" and it's owner's other aircraft......a TBM 700...........going to be some skills needed for that combination!

That would be quite a show to see, us west coasters don't get quite the show the east coast does.
Still have some good subjects here tho.
Heading to Whidbey Island to NASWI F-18 Base for pixs, hanging out there for 3 days, long eight hour drive tho, one way. Working on coins for them and some Phantom coins as well ...Have a glider, low runway pass and air to air shoot coming up as well next month.
Bill, did you print that last one for your desk? 👍
This Baby is fresh off the assembly line, hasn't been signed off yet, it's the brain child of Legend Aircraft owner Darin Hart and it's his new ride. The engine is custom and hidden within is a system that gives it a nitrous boost. Look for this "MOAC" on the STOL competition front lines soon......................

That's a good-looking male hummer, Zane! I haven't been able to photograph an adult male in the right light angle to show the orange gorget this whole season. They will be around here for a few more weeks before they move south.

Some beautiful shots in the last couple pages!
Bill, based on my observation, Florida shows usually have very good lineups. Mid Atlantic region where I am, usually have decent lineups but nothing close to what they are showing at Andrews next month. It may have something to do with the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the USAF.

The skies today looked very foreboding as we arrived at KSLR, leaden cumulous were drifting in and it really looked like we weren't going to get much but it turned out to be quite the opposite.............................
Hats off to the Canon R5 and it's ability to track a subject. This "MOAC" was doing 80-90 knots on this pass and I had the shutter speed dialed back to 1/100th, the camera allowed me to be dead on as I panned.................
Douglas, the RV cult had a formation flying weekend here in Temple in May 2020. They flew two formation flights over Temple, specifically over Baylor Scott & White hospital to salute the medical workers during COVID.
Douglas...Absolutely beautiful hummer shots, love the last two.
.
Douglas...Again, , beautiful plane shots, love the 3rd & 4th one.
I can't get a good prop blur for the life of me, too shaky I guess.
.
Jim, that is quite the plane lineup, WOW...
.
Love the RV planes Eddie, dam that's a lot of planes, we make parts for those as well for Bryan at showplanes here and Ken at skydesigns all tho Ken's aren't RV planes.
Thank you Ray! This was my first time to see the Vans RVs team, not easy to maneuver 10 ship! Your picture of them from May 2020 is amazing, feeling a little crowded.
Bill, thank you! You got some nice closeups there!
Jim, beautiful series!
Some shots from Atlantic City. I was very disappointed that, for both the practice day and the real show day, I didn't get one single really good shot of the TB's opposing passes. I have been routinely getting almost perfect opposing pass shots with the Sony A1's 30 FPS and AF capability, but not this time. Anyway, here are some shots of the TB and the F-18 Super Hornet. I can't believe I would enjoy shooting at 840mm that much.
You all have a great weekend.
Douglas
There are 4 jets in this, hard to see the 4th one.
