The rig that the Thunderbirds and Blues use is a cheaper, less featured version of the one that I had them build for me, less stable as well. I had to order a little longer HDMI cable for the set up with the NINJA V+.
Yup, the monitor on the camera (don't really think I would use it, but we'll see) and the Atomos NINJA V+. I think the set up will be a game changer for a number of video scenarios. The R5c is going to be perfect on it as well, just need to readjust the balance.
Varizoom has nice stuff Jim, I think you'll like it. My friend that has several businesses has used their equipment a lot with his, for his company called Ravensclaw.
No, I believe that is Jeremy Boyd's shot. He hitched a ride on a tanker around the time we were shooting that F/16. Most of mine were stationary........................
I haven't been out with my camera much lately, too danged hot, too busy, too lazy...you name it.
We did make two trips to New Mexico in June/July
The first one was cut short when the China Virus popped up...I started having symptoms of a sinus infection, with some low-grade fever, then my wife started feeling a little puny. BY the time we drove back to Texas, on day three of our trip, she was feverish. Took the home tests we had and both came up positive.
After 4 days I tested negative and was feeling like I was mostly back to normal. Had some fatigue for about a week.
All in all easier than a bout of the flu.
We went back the last week of July
It was cool and rainy, the 340K acre fire that the Forest Service started burned within 3-4 miles of our place...then the Lord sent rain.

Huge rain storms a block away yet we are bone dry!!!!....Skies are just scatterred with huge clouds, thousands of them providing some great skies for images!

Yeah, I am 1 hour and 20 minutes north of Austin/Bergstrom, and 2 hours south of DFW. Like I said, I am about 30 minutes south of Waco. There is a commercial airport in Killeen serving Ft. Hood, here is the website:
It says American Airlines serves the airport from DFW. Killeen is about 35 minutes west of me, and then there is another 30 miles north to Waco. If he made it to Killeen I could get him to Waco. (I just checked the airfare, $500 round trip! That is ridiculous.)

Thanks Ray!
I know about this because my military unit was/is at Ft Hood(not originally in my daze) but I flew MATS! As a civilian I flew via USGovt.
I thought $200 for that trip was a tad too much!! Seeing my brothers airfare from BWI-DFW was only a $100 more!

You pretty much can’t get on a plane to anywhere, no matter how brief, for less than 200 bucks
I see that now Jim!!!
I know "av fuel" is high expense but geez........ I quote......"Come on man?!!!!!"

Oh glad health is on the uptick.
Thank you Dan.
The hummingbirds were there by the bucket full, with the forest restrictions still in place, there were very few people in the area and the birds were hungry.
Our neighbor never left during the fire and she is using almost a pound of sugar a day to keep the feeders full!
Here's a little snippet of video, that's my wife's had being used as a perch.
Got home from Atlantic City last night. We stayed at the Tropicana, what a mistake! It's just too big and the layout is very confusing. Took forever to find out how to get to the garage from the where our tower was, same thing for finding the exit to go to the beach. I am a deplorable country boy. I would have probably found my way around if we had stayed there for more than one night. Anyway, the airshow was just OK, not enough performers to fill in the time. Will post some pictures when I get around to delete (that takes a lot of my time) and edit the keepers.
Dan, Andrews officially added new flyby: F-22, F-35B (a first for me), B-1, B-2, in addition to the TB and F-35A demos. Supposedly they will have the B-24, B-25 and B-29 flyby too. I think this lineup will be the best one I will have ever been to after the 60 or so shows I have gone to in the past 12 years. I am so ready for this!

That would be quite a show to see, us west coasters don't get quite the show the east coast does.
Still have some good subjects here tho.
Heading to Whidbey Island to NASWI F-18 Base for pixs, hanging out there for 3 days, long eight hour drive tho, one way. Working on coins for them and some Phantom coins as well ...Have a glider, low runway pass and air to air shoot coming up as well next month.
