I flew a pool project this morning and noticed that the log listed 140 flights so far on the new Mavic 3, pretty good ROI🤣
That's a lot of flying Jim. Bet you're getting pretty good.
How do the pix's look when you grab a still out of your video now a days ?

I envy you Bill and the others here that have the opportunity to photograph these "subjects" up close and personal!
It would be a complete "rush" for me! Life has gotten in the way for me.
So thanks for "filling in that blank!"
Dan
Thank you, I've been very fortunate these last few years and more is coming.

You have some beautiful pictures as well Dan, really like this one.

Hi Bill,
A still from the 4K video works pretty well for web use, but I wouldn't use it for anything else. The DNG still files are pretty good. I'm a little spoiled by the R5/R5c files.
I was scheduled to do a feature shot of two Temple football players Thursday afternoon. As I got to the school, the reporter called me to ask if I would do my regular feature compositions, then also do a composition with the two players back to back. He gave me no other instructions on the composition or what it was for. Then he asked for a shot of the two of them in the stands. OK. I did my feature shots and then told them where to stand so I could get the goal post in the background and to stand back to back. I took the shot. It turns out these two have been on the Varsity team since they were freshmen, 9th grade! A previous photographer took the first back to back shot of them 3 years ago. I never saw it. The reporter was writing a story about how they have been friends through football since middle school and their four seasons with Temple high school. Since I did not take the original photo of them together, I did not know about the composition, location or positions, arms folded, etc.
Sometimes you just get lucky. If you look closely I nailed the juxtaposition (the photos ran side by side in the paper). It is the same location, I was a little off on my angle, but I got them in the right order, Taurean on the left and Mikal on the right with their arms folded. Amazing luck!
The athletes I have been shooting have been great to work with. The tolerate my picky directions and old man humor (I think they are called "Dad jokes"). I found out the guy on the left is committed to Baylor and the one on the right hasn't decided among about 5 Division one schools. One of the smaller schools is Houston, my alma mater and I found out his dad played there. I hope that is where he decides to go. I bet he ends up at Texas.
These shots are screen shots off the web from the newspaper online version, so please pardon the quality.

Thank you Bill!
Appreciate the kind remarks!

Well I avoided it as long as possible, but the Wuhan version? finally caught up with me, tested positive yesterday afternoon. Problem is, I have a shooting schedule that is pretty rigorous over the next three weeks, beginning with a 5 am departure in the morning. Gotta rally!
