I just got word from Will's wife Julie that Will died from a very aggressive form of esophageal cancer on Thursday morning.
Will was very active on this forum until fairly recently, and I know he had many friends here that he met through this forum. I first met Will in 2015 when he initiated me to wildlife photography. He has been a great mentor ever since, even though I will never come close to matching his reflexes, his ability to spot far away developing action or his strength to handhold a big lens rock solid while shunning the use of VR ("Who needs it! just gets in the way.) He will be missed, both here and in the field.

Very sorry to hear this news. I bought a tripod from Will once upon a time and had a wonderful interaction with him. My deepest condolences to everyone who knew hime.
RIP Will...
I share many of the sentiments already expressed. Will was a real stand-up guy and spoke and shared without pretense. He gave honest advice, showed professional work, and was an all around great forum member. I'll miss seeing his crane and rodeo photos...

Thanks for getting the word out on Nikon Cafe as well. I have sent Julie the links to both threads so she can follow and see how much we all respected and appreciated Will's contributions to this community. I was fortunate to live nearby, so i got benefit directly from his guidance. Hw will certainly be missed here in New Mexico.
