I'm so saddened to hear this news. Will's presence here was always generous, encouraging, and full of knowledge. He had a gift for inspiring others to see more deeply and push themselves further, both in photography and in life. I will truly miss his beautiful images.
My condolences go out to Julie and his loved ones. He will be deeply missed.
Oh no! I was actually thinking about Will a couple of weeks ago, wondering what happened to him. We go ways back at NikonCafe. My favorite was when he would show off his "guns" while handholding the 200 f/2 and saying "SOOC handheld". I will miss you man. Rest in peace.
That's such sad news to read. We went back a long way and had many long conversations about photography(of course). Will was such a knowledgeable guy. Great to talk with and I always learned something no matter the length of the conversation. A big loss for this community. I've been looking for an obituary, but could not locate one.
Deepest condolences to Julie and his entire family. He will be missed by many.
I haven't lifted my Chubby in a while, maybe this weekend, with a D700 attached. Before I saw this post, I had dug through my camera cabinet and pulled out the D700 and charged up its battery, and was in search of a CF card. He also loved his grip.

RIP my brother....
Will and I had many phone conversations over the years. Great guy, great sense of humor.
The lens he loved the 200 f2, was originally my lens. Many years back we traded and he received the 200 f2.
Gentle Giant.. you will be missed.

It was because of Will talking so highly about the lens that I ended up buying the chubby. He definitely wasn’t wrong but man that lens was a beast. He could hold it rocksteady.

Don't forget the Folgers lid that Will endorsed as a lens cap
