Just got mine this morning (silver, B&H confirmation email 2 mins after went live)....... initial 10 minute and 10 shots impression which yes I know is absurd : I'm actually impressed (design and image quality). Comparing against experience with Leica, Sony, Canon, Fujis.
Honestly for $5K I was expecting to be like "well, this is nice, but not enough to keep it" ... and def. gonna keep it.
I'll put it through the paces on the streets next week and see what happens. Wish the best for everyone else!

RoamingScott... I see you are selling your brand new gfx100rf, what didn't you like about it in the end? You probably have 50% of the posts on this thread, so I'm particularly interested in your findings and reasons for selling, while I can still cancel my pre-order.

I haven't used it, nor do I even HAVE it yet. If someone wants one I'm happy to sell it. If no one bites, I'll use it and write a review.
It's not a camera I have a ton of USE for but I'm interested in playing with it.

I guess if one is to make a YouTube video with/about it, or to play to explore, preparing to resell before even touching it makes sense!
In the meantime, great advice about the local store! I mean, the Chicago ones had none that they could guarantee, that's why I tried BH very early on. However, after BH failed, I got in touch with a local store in another state yesterday and they had one and shipped it today! I can share the referral via PM if anyone wants to try.
I played a few hours already with the camera at NAB earlier this month, so I know I'll keep it to take photos, and I'm glad I could get one to use it!

Mine arrived today. Initial impressions are very good. Everything I expected would be excellent is—the sensor, the build and handling, the crop dial, the EVF, etc. Handheld at 1/60s is no problem and 1/30s works fine when using proper form.
I wasn’t sure about the lens but, thankfully, it is plenty sharp with excellent colors. Even corners look good. The bokeh is better than expected.
Two negatives so far:
1. The RAW files, even when compressed and 14bit, make Lightroom mobile on M4 iPad Pro choke a bit.
2. The focus stick is dreadful.

Agree with everything you said, especially the joystick. Makes me trust YouTubers even less than I already do. Barely heard a single one of them complain about it and it was the first thing I noticed. The worst feeling joystick on a camera I have ever used. Other than that, everything is great.

I didn't know the FM B&S forum did pre-orders of used equipment sellers will eventually own! You learn a thing every day!

No need to actually use it, for your review ... you can just cut and paste what you've already assessed, from here. You already gave us all the answers of why not to buy it.
