Here's what I was told: "We are prioritizing CPS and our long time customers as Canon has already indicated supply shortages".
Long time customer and CPS bodes well for me. They day of the announcement my dealer was calling those who indicted preorder and I was the 2nd person they got a confirmation from that I wanted to continue with the verbal preorder. I hazard a guess that there was several cancellations by some people expecting more features with the R1 and R5 MKII announcement. I'm looking forward to the R5 MKII. May not have everything I wanted but checks enough boxes making it a viable upgrade for me.

I'd love to see some photo's taken with it. And if you would, maybe a link to the raw files?
Test 1: Go take some high SS pan shots and see if you can get light poles or buildings to lean.
Test 2: Test how many shots you get in cRAW at 20fps and 30fps until it hits buffer
Test 3: Does the eye AF appear to work for your eye?
How's that possible? I thought that the camera will only ship 08/20. Where did you buy it from?
There are some stores breaking the rules and leaking them out. Yaniv is not the only one who has one, but he's the first to show proof of it here. I doubt he's going to throw his store under the bus.

Yes, the preorders are not fully soldout. Regarding of what you hear online there are dealers with unsold stock.
This is the way to go IMHO. Unlike Fuji and their X100, Canon did a great job stocking up plenty of R5s and making sure that it won't be any shortage.
What's interesting, you can get your R5II with a discount already! https://www.ebay.com/itm/285987088809
eBay shows me this: "You received an offer of US $4,213.02 (US $85.98 off) from the seller."

Well, if you post your images on the internet, and IF Canon could extract the serial number from the EXIF, they can link the dots. Just saying, and congratulations on getting your hands on the R5M2.

If Canon or someone else ask me to remove them i will gladly will. As far as i know at this point with a lot of poeple having them it does not matter but i will remove anything i will be asked to.

Not as worried about you having to remove your images, as getting your dealer into hot water
I am supposed to go an a trip on August 22nd and hence my reasons NOT to pre-order, since they are supposed to start delivering on the 20th of August. Thought I will come back from the trip and then place an order for the camera. If I had known this, I would have tried other options. Either way, will come back from my trip and hopefully walk into B&H and buy one :-)

Canon won't ask you to remove them, but if they extract the serial number, your dealer likely won't get any more Canon cameras for a while...

The new battery is 8.4V which is better than the old 7.2V one but still less voltage compared to the LP-E19 which is rated at 10.8V. So there is a chance it will drive lenses faster but obviously not as fast as the KING

Now THAT is welcomed news! I was literally looking around today brefly for this very information. Driving lenses faster is one of the unspoken reasons the flagships always out perform the 5 series.

Help about the time code?
Also, does anyone here know if the Wireless Remote Control BR-E1 worked with the R5? If so, I think there is a chance it'll be compatible with the R5 II.
