Yes same receipt so one must order the lenses with the R5II but no where in the terms is it made clear that lens orders must wait until the embargo on the R5II is over to be available for pickup if it is in stock. All it says is preorder the lenses with the camera.
The only one I'm interested in is the 15-35mm f2.8L, so I guess I have three weeks to decide on getting it. Camera Canada confirmed yesterday that I will be getting the camera on the 20th (although I'm not sure how they can guarantee that).

My guess is that Canon has a certain amount of an allotment available for Canadian customers and with the allotment stores have been told how many they can can expect based on the current preorders that the dealers may already have. Also one of the terms listed in the promotion says while supplies last. My guess is the planned allotment for Canadian stores has not yet been reached in terms of the promotion.
The 100-500, less so 70-200 and 15-35 tweak my interest. The 24-70 although my most used lens in the EF days is least interest since I have the 28-70

Apparently, the R5 doesn't support time code. Will the R5 II support time code?
Help?
Also, does anyone here know if the Wireless Remote Control BR-E1 worked with the R5? If so, I think there is a chance it'll be compatible with the R5 II.

Same and I got that email as well for the 20th (which is what the website showed on preorder), but when I spoke with the rep on friday to change my billing information I was told the estimate ship date was the 29th. Not too sure how accurate that email is.

Is the special R5II preorder jacket and $500 off a new lens deal only available in Canada?
Seems like it. If it makes you feel any better, the pre-order gift in Australia is a strap. It's a nice leather one with a handmade design, but also feels like a bit of a waste for the likely R5 II shooter who is probably already using a Blackrapid style sling, Peak Design, Holdfast or some other strap they are already very happy with and have no intention of changing.

Here's what I was told: "We are prioritizing CPS and our long time customers as Canon has already indicated supply shortages".
