Will you be buying the upcoming Fujifilm X100VI?
Yes, I'm planning to pre-order it as soon as it's available.
Maybe, but I'll wait until I've read reviews on it.
No, I'm content with my current Fuji camera.

I may carry my phone in my pocket — and sometimes use it for photography — but my camera is almost always in a small bag. When shooting the XT5 and the 27mm f/2.8 it goes in a very small bag thatfor goes over my shoulder. It is big enough for the camera, my wallet, my phone, and a couple of small extras. It might be 4” wide, 2” thick, and 6”+ tall.

So it isn’t “pocketable,” unlike my phone. But I’m not sure what camera that I’d be willing to use would literally be pocketable, and end up getting

That's fair - I may have shot quite a bit wide with my statement. I separately own a GR iii alongside my x100v because of the ibis in low-light among other features, with its largest winning factor being a completely pocketable camera. In my position I would highly consider selling both of these cameras to consolidate into one body for these features I enjoy and find useful, at sacrifice for the ricoh's extreme pocket-ability. All in all, for me, with my bad back, it is very enticing to be able to carry more flexibility in less of a package. However I will have to look more into what you mean by the 40mp being limited by camera stability. I admit I am still very early in experience and knowledge

What filter are most people using for the weather sealing? You have to buy both the adapter ring and filter right?

I have a 10% mist Moment filter on at all times. The filter adapter came with the square hood I bought. https://amzn.to/49o470u

Let me play devil's advocate. Where are you displaying a 65:24 photo? If IG or TikTok, there is no way to adequately showcase it.

On the web? Ok, 20mp is enough, for now, for a 5K display...but won't be for long...

Printing? Won't have the latitude to make a truly showcase image at 20mp.

I'm like 25% with Fuji on this...it's a feature best left to MF 50 and 100mp sensors, in terms of "protecting" Fuji. The other 75% of me thinks the consumer should have the choice to print too big or post too small on the internet

Good points for sure but adding the feature should be an easy and cheap thing for Fuji since they essentially already have it for Gfx. I shouldn't have mentioned TikTok, I know nothing about the interface and next to nothing about IG.
Print wise, I have made some pans working backward from standard paper widths and customer cutting to the height I need. These are actually from stitched XT5 photos so resolution isn't the same. But the technique would work and I think a 20Mp, 65:24 file at 5.9"x16" or 8.8x24" should still have enough resolution to look great. Then matte them to standard frames if thats what you want. I like the oddball sizes on the wall, changes things up.
But I think most people are just going to view them via monitor slide show and the 20Mp will be fine for the life of a camera model.

No plans to buy the new x100. My $400, mint x100S works just fine.

Let me play devil's advocate to your devil's advocate. the 65:24 crop just crops the top and bottom of the image and doesn't reduce in any way the size of the long edge one would be happy to print at. If you are happy to print 19", 24", 30" or 36" wide with a Fuji camera, then cropping to 65-24 doesn't change this. I quite often crop to 65:24 in post from both the X-T5 and X-T30 and am happy with the results. I use the 24 grid setting as a compositional tool as the first and third horizontal grid lines simulate a 65:24 crop. However, it would be a bit easier to compose and reduce post processing if Fuji enabled this in camera.

Having read Jonas Rask's review and seeing the camera for real, I have to applaud Fuji. The size did not change dramatically with IBIS, and there are some other capabilities that seem to make this a real winner. I don't shoot enough with any camera to make this switch (at least not at this time!) but down the road? Maybe, just maybe! (In at least one other thread I did say - "never say never" - or something to that effect...!)

I’m actually quite disappointed in the IBIS performance during video recording based on the videos I’ve watched. It’s very jerky, reminiscent of the X-H1 but a lot worse. I’ll have to do some various tests at different frame rates, but it’s even noticeable in slow motion. Bummer.

Everything else is just as I expected it would be…digital tele converter performance has improved thanks to the resolution, battery life remains the same if not better, all accessories remain compatible, and most components were reused.

the trick is to not hit "search"...the best search results are the ones that pop up in the suggestions. I hate gmail.

I'm of the mind that the new sensor will basically replace the need for the tele adapter. The in-camera digital TC upscaling is very good and will be better now with more resolution to work with.

I'm still quite interested in using the wide adapter but never grabbed one.

To me, that extra leeway because of the higher MP is the most appealing aspect of this new camera. But I don’t think it’s enough for me to buy it anytime soon, if ever.

I preordered a black X100VI this morning at B & H. I was going to stay up last night to preorder, but forgot about it. I have never owned or used a X100V, but I very much want a smaller camera and the X100VI appears to be the one. I previously owned a X-E4, but I need IBIS and the X-E4 does not have IBiS so I sold on ebay in late December. I currently own an X-T4 and a X-T5, and a bunch of old Nikons.

I’m using a Nisi all-in-one. It’s like a shoot-through lens cap. I haven’t noticed any additional flare or loss of contrast, and it works nicely with the built-in cap

This is what stays on my old, crummy X100V, too. ;-)

I preordered one in all the excitement last night, and cancelled in the morning. I will not be using ovf, not using internal flash, I don't like lcd display that I cannot hide away. And I hate the idea it needs additional accessories to make it "usable". I had x100v for a short time in the past, and nothing changed with things that I did not like.
x-h2 is clearly a better option for me, if I decide to add more fuji cameras.
