Thank you. Those look like the ones Jon sold for the 600GM. This cap was just a stop gap anyway until I had time to prototype one to 3D print. I have a base cylinder design in Fusion 360 and can just resize it to the dimensions of the 300mm GM. Then I can print it in ASA where it will be sure to not warp from UV and heat.
Those are certainly Jon's designs. Not sure if Jon is associated with that site? He has his own site but no 300 hood.
I'd want my hood to be more like 2". I run a 2.25" on the 600GM.
I was in Cannon Beach the first part of the week. Wild weather - sunshine to hail with lots of wind and rain, all in the same day, Monday. It was pretty wet and blowy after that. I did get in some shots on Monday though.

Got out with the 300Gm for the first time last weekend. All shots are with the 1.4x attached. I am behind on PS and Pureraw updates so the 300GM was not in the lens inventory in my current versions. Because of this I did not apply any lens corrections or sharpening. The files seemed sharp enough in post but not as sharp as what I saw in the EVF at the time they were taken. I will probably re-run these when I get updates to my apps. Overall, very impressed with this lens with the 1.4 attached.
Finally a break in the rain...and an amazing sunrise. I had little choice in composition, as the colors were transitioning rapidly, but I just love this lens!

Depends on the time of year and location in Africa. For example during the green season in TZ you really won't need to worry about dust at all whereas in the summer it's a big deal.
We have - finally - had a couple of sunny weekends in a row, so I was able to get out and enjoy a little Spring. Santa Cruz arboretum... a1 + 300GM, mostly WO or slightly stopped down.
