When we visited CR and Africa I took (back in my Canon days) a 300 and both TC's.
Owning a 600/4 now if I were to do those trips again I'd take the Sony 300 and both

Lowest ISO is 250. Unless you use the extended ISOs.

Someone mentioned either here or one of the Sony FB groups that the Sigma LCF-105 III lens cap works on the 300GM. I can definitively report that it does not fit because it never clicks into place as designed. Falls right off so this is going back to Amazon
I plan to 3D print a cap and hood at some point. Hopefully RolanPro will come out with the 300GM cover as well

Obviously the cap isn't made for the 300 and the 300 is not made for caps, but it clamps well enough for me to hold the lens upside down and shake it quite a bit without falling off. I did 2 flights with the lens + sigma cap this weekend without problems. Perhaps there's a slight variance between units

Might be some variation but definitely doesn't work for me. It never seats well enough for me to feel that it's gonna hold. For flights in a padded bag I think it's fine. As a walk around I would lose this thing in the first outing.
Zemilin has one but it's $90. I can just as easily go into Fusion 360 and create one to print
