I assume you are using AF-C, what do you have AF-C priority set to? AF-C priority selection is the setting that controls whether the photo can be taken before the camera acquires focus. I normally set mine to balanced emphasis.
Also as someone has already pointed out the disable Full Time DMF on the lens.
AFC-Priority is set to Release just to get 30frames. I am getting some clue from reply on the thread. Will try this out and update. I am a student doing part time on Wildlife as a hobby. Just need some time to try and update you all.
A definite first for me a juvenile Northern Shrike, at first I thought it was a Merlin but after taking the shot I saw that it wasn't so I had to look it up.
Have any of you that own the 600GM considered replacing it with the 300GM. This is the dilemma I have now and I’m currently testing the 300GM and so far I am very impressed. Having said that, I really can’t afford to keep both and have injuries to both arms which make the 600GM tough at times. Any thoughts appreciated.
First hour with the 300gm, I had the opportunity to try my friend's 300 and well, I bought mine yesterday luckily my shop allowed me to piggyback off a Sony rebate they had

I'm going to work on a blind test to see if all the rendering experts can really tell the difference without the EXIF included. Maybe 20 shots, mix between 600GM and 300GM/2xTC.
