as far as I know, it's not possible without using extension tubes or modifying the hardware
I was able to make stacking RF extenders on the Canon side possible with some modification, so I may be able to make something happen with Sony as well.
Based on how the 400TC/600TC work with stacked extenders (very well), I'd imagine the 300GM would be similar.

You can stack them with an extension tube in between. Some extension tube brands need a small plastic tab shaved down for them to fit in the tube. I believe there are some brands where you don't have to shave the tab down.
I haven't done any testing with the stacked TCs. I confirmed that it works but the focus range is very restricted. You always loose infinity focus when using an extension tube but when I've stacked the TCs on the 600GM it can still focus far enough out for most bird photography. With the 300GM it can't focus very far and will limit what you can shoot.
I still have been meaning to do some more tests with the stacked TCs but keep forgetting to do it.
Will post back here once I do.
The Fotodiox 16mm works with Sony FE without modification but on the 300mm you can only focus up to 80ft (stacked 2 TCs together)
So only good for macro like shots, not for birds and distant subjects
Basically it's of no use , at least to me
