So far what I can say is that it's stupid sharp - kind of mind bending actually especially on a 61mpx body. Rendering however doesn't seem to quite have the same pop and 3D magic as some of my favorite 35mms (such as the 35/1.4 ZM on an M body). That's at least my early impression - need to shoot it a lot more of course. It's certainly worth keeping as a fast focusing all around lens in the 35mm FL even if I am still wishing that Zeiss gets off their collective behind and makes a Sony-specific version of the 35/1.4 ZM (at this point it feels like Zeiss has given up a bit on the camera market).
Sharpness of this lens is incredible.
Like weight and dimensions.
Other things are to my eyes ordinary.
Possibly it is not achievable to combine the above with bokeh, rendering and 3d effect on the same lens.
Any lens is a compromise and this is demonstrated here, I think.
And by the fact that there are more than thenty 35mm lenses in the market for FE mount.

Love the AF speed on this lens. It could be a bit faster but this is enough for me to take spontaneous pictures while having a great time with my kid.
Nice shots! By the way, I believe you might have EFCS turned on (I could be wrong but it looks like it), which in that first shot makes the bokeh look a bit busier than it should. Just a suggestion to turn it off if you want to smooth things out
