Compared to Sigma's 24i, I would say that Sony will be at 180-200 EUR/USD more expensive. First party, brighter, smaller and feature richer (focus hold button). That would put it over 700 whichever pennies you're using. Would love to be proved wrong though.

Personally I'd happily lose the expensive button and aperture ring and knock off $150. These are small slow travel lenses not pro lenses.
The button I can agree on with you, but not the aperture ring. I've always loved these, from way back to film days. Tactile experience and haptics are quite important to me, as is the optical quality.

It wasn't important in the photographic industry for most of the AF age until recently (the past decade) when it returned as a retro throwback. I'm sure many enjoy it but I can't see why it should be so necessary that it justifies these prices for what are small slow consumer primes. As for the quality, I'd prefer faster lenses that are as good as these when stopped down to f2.5 rather than lenses designed to be slow simply to ensure MFT bragging rights and justify the pricing. The lenses are unlikely to be that exceptional, they've simply moved the goal posts.

I haven't gone through and read all 17 pages, but I'm hoping the 40mm is as compact as the pictures depict. This would be a nice walkaround lens for me when out with my son.

$600 isn't bad, especially considering the price of the 35 2.8 ZA being $800 and lacking these nice haptic features. I'm guessing these lenses will be excellent performers. Not my cup of tea (the 28-60 fulfills my small lens needs perfectly), but these are awesome lenses to have in the system. The 24 in particular seems very attractive compared to the Sigma i series equivalent

Haptics is always a pretty idiosyncratic judgment. Personally, I like that the aperture ring is more separated in distance from the focus ring and is a bit wider on the Sigma, and I can live without the button but I understand why people want it. The Sony 24 f/2.8 G and the Sigma 24 f/35 I series are definitely similar but the obvious difference is the Sony has a wider aperture and the Sigma focuses a lot closer (1:2 magnification vs. about 1:10). Personally (and again people can and should differ on their preferences here), I value the close focus more than the faster aperture. With the Sigma priced a $500, I expect the Sony to fall somewhere between $600 and $750.

Yikes, the LoCa seems to be off the charts based on early reviews:
If that is true, then it is disappointing. One advantage of slower lenses should be less axial CA. Axial CA is very aperture dependent and should be much less prominent at smaller apertures.
