I made a big shift in my camera/lens kit, going from a Sony A1 with 24-70 GM II to the A7CII with the 24 and 40 G lenses. I still have my 70-200 GM II.
Most of my photography these days is during travel and casual snaps of my family, so I figured this suits my needs better (for now).
I'm excited to have a small kit that can fit into basically any bag!

Thanks Pierre. I so wanted to like the small G trio of lenses. But even the 50 was sent back after I tried it. Thanks for sharing these pictures. Although wonderful, they include an example of the sort of thing I do not like -- in the window box flowers pic (second last above) the OOF area looks more like camera shake than a smooth transition -- very nervous. And IMHO spoils an otherwise attractive shot. I'm not usually pedantic about bokeh but in this case it disturbs me.
Having tried and returned or traded all of them, I went with the Batis 25, Sony 35ZA and Sony 55. I will probably swap out the 35ZA for the FE 35/1.8, as I do need at least f2.0 for some situations, and the ZA pics did not wow me.
The FE 35/1.8 does not seem very popular on here but it has good reviews from respected reviewers so I'm willing to give it a go.

Well,50/2.5 G is not a master of bokeh indeed. But I bought it for small size, good sharpnes/contrast and colour rendition.A also have ZA 35/2.8 and 55/1.8 plus ZA 50/1.4 and ZA 35/1.4 as I like them very mych and like their Zeiss rendition.Just because of this I got now all Zeiss Batises and all Zeiss Loxias too. Also used to have all APS-C Touits,ZA 24/1.8and ZA 16-70/4.Forgot about ZA 16-35/2.8 that I reluctantly replaced for Sony GM 12-24/2.8 plus Sony G 16-35/4 and Sigma 16-28/2.8.
Sony 35/1.8 is a good lens and I presume that you will be pleased. But don't excpect big quality differences compared to 55/1.8 or 35/2.8 ZA.

Has anyone here compared the 50/2.5 G to the Voigtlander 50/2 APO? Aside from autofocus, I'm curious how the Sony stands against the APO in terms of IQ.
