He’s saw it but doesn’t have a photo of it for his rumour website? I don’t believe a thing that guy says

Perhaps he started it with good intentions, however now it's purpose appears to be to lure people for regular visits to increase ad revenue. Most of the posts are on "deals" to purchase software and other rubbish. And most of the rumors are false.
He's drip feeding information to get you visiting.
He knew nothing about the A1 nor much about the A7RII
Might be worth checking it occasionally for a laugh, though I'd lower ones expectations.
What I'd appreciate is a thread here that posts good translations of the nokishita site, which is where the majority of SARs real rumours originate. Then, we'd have occasional semi-reliable rumors without the time-wasting rubbish and ads.

Someone on DPR says their local shop/seller has held the 50 1.2 GM and it's bigger/heavier than the 50 1.4 ZA.

It could well be bigger or heavier, but I don’t think it’s very likely that any local shop or seller has handled one. It’s the kind of thing people say to give credence to their speculations. But we’ll see soon. I’m interested personally at same size or smaller, probably not if noticeably latter or heavier.

I dunno. I know the reps get this stuff early sometimes and visit shops to show it off. I'm not saying that's for sure the case here, but it's a possibility.
That said, I believe approximately 5% of everything I read online.

Maybe things are different in the States then. Here the reps get stuff early in the sense of after announcement and before shipping, and that's when they show it off to shops. But they don't give it to anyone but youtubers and reviewers under NDA before announcement.

I would guess it will have the same length as the 50/1.4 ZA (or only slightly longer). It could be heavier though. As a comparison to a high performance 50/1.2 lens, the Canon RF version is 170g heavier than the FE 50/1.4 ZA and exactly the same length.

No matter what, I think it's safe to say this thing will be a hoss.

That’s what I think is likely too. But I don’t rule out similar weight to ZA after the surprise of the GM35; especially as the composite shell of GM lenses is a lot lighter than the thicker metal shell than previous ZAs of the Planar.

Do we imagine that Sony making a 50mm 1.2 has anything to do with sales? It's a bragging rights lens. As such I doubt they care about it being small or light(ish)?
And no I'm not bitter about the hope for a nice small 50mm 1.4 GM fading into the distance...

IMO it's a mistake if Sony is going to release a GM 50/1.2 just as big and heavy as the RF 50. Canon came out with a lens first and it wouldn't really help Sony improve the mount size perception since Sigma already made an f/1.2 lens for the system. The only thing left is how Sony can still make the lightest and smallest in this class with at least great sharpness and similar smart trade-offs like the other recent GM primes.

I wouldn’t mind the 50 1.2 GM being the same size and weight as the 85m GM.

Kind of wish they were focusing on other technologies or features for their lenses instead of a bigger aperture. I’d kill for a good Sony anamorphic lens.

I think it will be heavier than the 50/1.4 ZA because some elements will be larger to accommodate the faster aperture
The ZA has a visible dip at mid-field and it would be great if the new GM avoids that.

Or even a 50/2 APO on the order of the Voigtlander that is only slightly larger to accommodate autofocus. Imagine a 50/2 APO weighing around 350-400 grams.
