Guys, I was just kidding about being salty if you get your lens in before me. I’m truly happy for you and you shouldn’t let it affect your excitement or need to apologize for it. I of course am “jelly” but in the most inconsequential way possible. It’s just a lens. I’ll live if I don’t get it ASAP.

Agreed, I am very jelly of everyone who has the lens in hand or on the way. But it is definitely very helpful to hear that B&H is still processing/shipping orders now.

I think it might be Sony Fever season, and I have the virus. The 50/1.2 came today and it’s quite amazing. I can’t wait to put it through its paces.
I knew I had the Sony Fever virus three days ago when I convinced myself to buy the 35GM as well. It shipped today and now I can’t wait to try out that lens! Luckily for my marriage I have a couple of lenses I can sell to make up much of the cost. 🙂. But Sony releasing what looks to be the best ever 50mm and 35mm lenses is tough to pass up, especially when those are my favorite focal lengths. I wonder if there are meds for this malady?😳

The 35GM has met all of my expectations, and my 50GM is due to arrive tomorrow, and I’m sure it will be fantastic as well. Now I just need to decide if I want to sell my 12-24 to get the 14GM :/. Would save a good bit of size and weight and would round out my kit of primes…

I went on the waitlist and they just called to say they have one!! They ship Monday---- THANK YOU!!!! I canceled my Amazon preorder -- which note to self: do not preorder thru Amazon in the future.

Precision Camera took the rest of my money today (put down $200 when I preordered for priority in line) so hopefully I join the club next week. Really looking forward to it, had a 50L back in my Canon days and have always wanted one, only this time with the incredible AF offered these days compared to back when was using the 50L with a 6D I believe.
That'll complete my "holy trinity" of the 24 GM, 50 GM, and 135 GM. Had the comparable combo back with Canon and have waited with workarounds for years until I had the same options with Sony.

When I did this with the 24GM I placed the order again and had no idea how long it would take to fill. A number of people on the forum here were helpfully identifying local shops with stock. Once I saw one close enough to me I called and ordered through them and had it delivered by the next day.

Today, my Amazon pre-order updated from "May 17 - 19" to "Arriving tomorrow [May 15th] by 8pm". Unfortunately, the shipping method is Intelcom Courrier and I don't get packages that are shipped via Intelcom about 1/4th of the time. And when I do get the package, it's a day or two late about half the time.
