Mine says order in progress as well. No date. I changed the delivery address to another state last week as I am spending some time in Boston now. I had paid for Overnight to CA when I ordered it

Just chatted with B&H. I am SPS. They said my camera has not come in. At first he said none have come in and I told him I had heard some had and he "double checked" and found that some have come in, but not mine. It sounds like B&H chat reps don't really know what's going on.
Just canceled my order and will wait to find another vendor. A bit disappointed with Sony Pro Services. I've got $20k+ of their products so not sure what it takes to get bumped up in line.

Tim, did the status of your order change to “In Process” or did it remain “New Order”?

Okay, thanks! Apparently, Sony obviously underestimated the demand of this camera and frankly, judging by the price, I didn’t expect that it would be in such a high demand item either. I hope you would be able to get one soon.

Hi Joshua, well the Sony A1 seems to me to be optimal for many photographic scenarios.
Also there are many well to do folks around that can easily afford an A1.
So demand could easily outstrip supply, no?

K-H., true, and to a certain degree, the V-shaped recovery in the stock market may have to do with it . What do I know...
If Tim, who is an SPS member couldn’t get one allocated to him by B&H, that tells us something. A shooting buddy of mine told me yesterday that her order at another store had to wait to be filled until the next allocation from Sony. Apparently, only folks that signed up to get prioritized will get theirs from that particular store. However, that store feels confident that there would be the next shipment of A1 by the end of the month. That’s good news!

I didn’t want to disappoint myself so I have not ordered my A1 yet.
In the past I had to wait several months to have a Sony NEX-7 and a Leica M9 shipped to me from B&H.
Certainly I won’t consider GreenToe for this purchase.
So I’ll wait a bit longer until the initial rush is over.
No big deal for me as my A9 still works beautifully.

I’ve actually seen GreenToe offer discounts on backordered cameras and lenses in the past, so never say never!

AKM Nobeoka factory fire disrupting Sony supply chain across the board. It's likely the A1 is impacted at they supply the LSI components per SAR.
Plus there is a global shortage for silicone and semiconductors across the entire electronics industry. Bitcoin mining, working from home, game console releases in the fall eating up a lot of components and manufacturing capability. PS5, xbox series x, and video cards have been sold out for at least 4 months.
Plus shipping industry is pretty backlogged...COVID restrictions means ships and docks are understaffed. I've been piece mealing my home gym for pretty much a year now as stuff becomes available. (easier now than it was earlier, but still tough)
So yeah no one should take any of this personally. Happens with every new camera release and there are other extra-ordinary factors this time around

I’m guessing B&H is still your best bet unless you really cancelled your order. It’s my understanding supply was very limited.

I was told from Bedfords that I am number 37 AFTER the first shipment goes out and that they are getting "low double digits" allocation fro their first shipment. I ordered on 2/6.

I agree, you also just don't know how accurate the information from a B&H representative is. The communications between their various departments (i.e. sales, shipping, used equipment purchase etc..) are not the best.

BTW, some of you said you didn't get a Delivery Estimate on your order. The attached shows where it appears on my order history online.

Well my CC was charged today by B&H, so that means it is shipping as it was charged, when ordered, then of course the charge was taken off and now charged per their normal standard, when item is shipping.
Now I have to transfer funds to my CC as I never run a balance on it. I haven't had any CC charges for interest in years. But it is a nice convenience to have for ordering anything.

Seems like anyone who didn't order on the 26th, the first day of pre-order, might have to wait till the next shipment, SPS or not. The demand surprises me, considering the camera's hefty price tag.
