Does anyone know if you can shoot over 1/16,000 in uncompressed RAW with the a1? I think with the a9ii it would only go to 1/32,000 if shooting compressed RAW.

Owner of Paul's Photo in California posted that pre-orders will be available for pick up on Tuesday, so unless your shop is going to charge you on Tuesday but give you a body before hand. Tuesday is the day some of us will be fondling it

I will be picking up mine on Tuesday morning. The dealer had 30+ on order and will be receiving only 2 so seems like short supply on first shipment. Being SPS member does help for this type of service.

I want to see how much of an improvement in AF compared to A9/A9II. Swallows are tough. So if A1 can track swallows much better than A9 I will have enough reason to get it. Not just for swallows, but for the best AF in the world. I value input from people like you. So just waiting..

It's kinda strange that shops are not given an allocation # by Sony, at least that's what some shops are saying. How can they not know how many they're receiving?

Sony gets pre order numbers from there retail shops. They never disclose that number to any retailer or any other source. They use that info for production reasons and determines what supplies they may need. What they try to do is balance out the pre orders to available units. If you read what I wrote before on this subject it’s usually 2 per store to the smaller stores around the country. Bigger retailers may have hundreds of orders so they will try to accommodate as best they can. Than they start the second wave. But all of this is undisclosed data so it can be sorted outed our . Most companies work in this fashion. I know Leica did as well. Typically shipping containers come across the oceans than they ship out of US marketing depts. they know exactly what’s in those containers.
