I don't think anyone is lying, but who knows if anyone has accurate info at bh either. They said Sunday they hoped to have their shipment on the 4th. Seems at least like the 9th is a real date.

It looks like everyone who contacts B&H is getting different information about the A1 stock. Let's wait until tomorrow, the original shipping date, to see if anything moves with any of the US dealers.
One thing for sure, folks at B&H are probably annoyed with all the phone calls they are getting lately regarding the shipments of the A1 camera

Mine still shows Backordered, but I managed to speak to someone at BH this afternoon....they said they were getting their shipment on 3/11 and they might start shipping on 3/12, but more than likely would start shipping 3/15.
EDIT: Just checked and mine has now changed to "New Order"

My order status from Bedford changed from pre-ordered to awaiting shipment. I may shoot them a note later to see what the ETA is mostly just to coordinate someone being here to sign for it

I also got a response from BH today.
ME: I wanted to confirm that my Alpha 1 order will be in the allocation available on March 9th. I filled out the required form from Sony Pro Support to receive priority. I appreciate your time. Thank you!

I just called Bedford's and the guy I spoke to said that they were still waiting to receive their shipment from Sony, that it was "any day now." He didn't seem to know how many they had been allocated.

I was also told by B&H on Tuesday that the cameras were at the shop and would I would get one shipped out on the 9th (my order had changed from backordered to new order). I am not a pro support member but did order at 10:01 on day 1.

If that’s the true, it looks like Sony indeed put “embargo” on US dealers on not to ship these cameras until 3/9...

Spoke to Bedford later in the afternoon. They are "expecting" 11 A1 bodies to arrive tomorrow. They have at least 17 (counting myself) Sony Pro members in the queue and about 70 overall orders for the A1. They said Sony has been very quiet about the numbers to be shipped. The next batch could take days or another month.

I ordered Feb 1st and I can't remember when pre's started, so don't know if I'm
in the 1st tier running or not.
Doesn't matter really. As an old retiree it'll be a nice surprise whenever it shows up.

I have written to two dealers to ask whether I could be put on a waiting list for the A1 (non-binding pre-order) but none of those have replied for a week now as to whether they maintain such a list or if I have been added to such a list.
