I bought the Sigma this morning. Still have the GM order in place buts survival rate right now is slim. I ordered the Sony a week or so ago. How long would I be waiting June July August. Who knows I'm not that comfortable with that
Curious to here your thoughts on it. I was thinking about getting that and keeping my CV35mm 1.2. But some reviews say it's more a 2.8 lens rather than being great wide open.

I have made a little comparison in crop mode between my nokton 50mm at f2 and my 35mm gm wide open.
No sharpening. I'm amazed by the similar look of the images. There are more differences between the Nokton and my sigma 50mm art, than between the nokton in crop and the 35gm (not at the same aperture though)
The Gm 35 is so sharp that at 100% wide open it looks as sharp (or even sharper) than both the nokton and the sigma at f/2 and at 67%
That is impressive.
I have made another comparison between the 24gm wide open and the 35gm at F2, but it is not very interesting, since the 24 just look bad in comparison in every way (sharpness, softness, aberrations...)

Why do you think this late? Every retailer and rumor is saying that it will be available April 12th, i.e., just 2 weeks from now.

I ordered mine on the 13th March from e-infinity.com and it arrived on the 25th. Checked the serial number on the Sony site and it’s not affected by the early batch issue
Edit - I’m in the UK in case that makes a difference

B&H has told me recently on multiple occasions that Sony has said they will be able to fill all of their preorders - we’ll see as I was about a month late to the party.

The GM is worth waiting for!
My 35/1.2 DN goes for sale, can't keep up with the 35 GM even by f2.8.

Stores in Sweden are starting to have the lens in store and I bought mine today at the local camera store.
I've used the Sony/Zeiss 35/1.4 ZA since 2015 and my first impression is that the GM is better in pretty much every area. I had some concerns about bokeh but the GM seems to be at least as nice as the ZA. LoCa is visible but still a lot better than the ZA. My copy is sharp from edge to edge already at 1.4 and that's a very big improvement.
One could argue that the lens lacks a bit of character but technically it's very good!

I may just wind up with the Sigma F2 and the GM and try them both out. I could use the Siggy for travel. I will always be a working photographer but I just took a part time job. I’m going to love to death. I’m a golf ranger at one of the best golf courses in the whole state. I mean the most expensive one as well. Absolutely a gorgeous property and I get to play for free. I did the paper work today and the last time I had a REAL job was 911. Now that was scary to write down.
I feel lucky to start this new chapter and I put well over 45 years as a Pro in, it’s time to slow down.

I just noticed that E-Infin have the GM in stock, but at an inflated price of $1800 US or so. I'm still thinking of replacing my 35 f/2 Sigma, but for now I'll wait for the prices to normalise.

More test shots for now, sorry to those expecting something more creative. Some more street shots to be released in a week or so. I have taken this out and it performs well. AF is plenty fast. The Sigma f/1.2 will beat it for background separation, but there is greater value of having a mid-weight lens for this purpose for me. It is sharper also, but that really doesn't matter so much to me as they are both sharp. What I need it for is acquiring AF quickly and accurately, in lower light situations, and with great background separation and detail. And it does that.
It's not as warm and magical looking as my 85 Samyang, for example. I find the rendering more neutral and controlled, with more microcontrast. (The AF is miles ahead of THAT lens). But I have to say it pretty much solved all of the concerns I had with the FE35 f/1.8 and is still compact enough for long term carrying. So I am quite happy.

B&H also told me (late pre-order) that I would get mine in the first batch.
