p.75 #1 · Pre-order: Sony FE 35mm f/1.4 GM ($1,399)
I just noticed the most recent lightroom update has a lens profile for the 35GM. To date I had been just using the 'built in' profile. The new one seems to work well.

Some more quick shots from the lens, posted earlier with google drive links but uploaded to flickr here. Mostly kids. I will get out with it later this week for a street walk.
So far, the third picture is the worst I have seen of bokeh in difficult background situations. And I still think it handled it relatively well.

Sorry but the bokeh of this lens is absolutely not convincing to me.
I’m looking to substitute my Bigma because of weight but his seems not to be the one.

I think the bokeh looks really nice from the last samples posted by @abadger@. Even the Bigma can struggle under certain conditions and I think they are so close you really need a direct comparison to see the actual differences... Of course whith the Bigma you have that extra blur which can make or break a photo in those difficult conditions, but you pay for it with (mostly) size & weight...
Maybe it will be a similar situation like with 85GM and 85DN, just reversed, where it's a question of ultimate smoothness vs usability .

Received mine today. Had some trepidation in checking the corners (last few lenses I've tried had poor right sides; tried 2 samyang 35mm 1.8s and they had awful right frame smearing).
The top right corner of this lens is slightly less sharp than the rest, but, frankly, it's still more than sharp enough for me. For a 1.4 lens I think this is pretty fine.
What do you think of the top right corner? Acceptable?
p.75 #8 · Pre-order: Sony FE 35mm f/1.4 GM ($1,399)
I'd consider the top right corner acceptable. Curious what others think.
Here's a question, do you see noticeably better color/contrast at f/1.4 with the GM vs. the ZA? I got that impression from some of the comparisons I've seen, & that's one of the reasons I'm looking at upgrading form the ZA (sharpness aside).

Good question - I think the GM has punchier contrast, whilst the ZA had more "cinematic" contrast (though this was probalby due to all of it's "flaws" - I think the ZA was designed to be a bit softer but with very creamy bokey and OOF areas, though the Sony engineer's lens limitations 6 years ago may have also constrained them).
Wish I had the ZA to compare it right now, but there you go. It wasn't easy to sell even in Feb.

It's funny, that normally I would scroll through a thread like this and say "I gotta buy this" and frequently do like the CV40 f1.2
In this case I am not compelled at all to buy. I have no idea why, as technically it looks great, it just doesn't have the seductive power of lens lust I was expecting.
More surprising is that I do have some lens lust for the Sigma 35i

Bill on the surface most of these images are from across the pond and beyond. They simply don't have the light punch of like where I am in Arizona
It's not the shooters but the environment most of these are shot in.

I have had the Sigma 35 1.2 - it is a great lens, but too heavy for everyday use. Today I took many photos of my family with the GM - the Eye AF is much more precise...
A pleasure to work with

Part of the seductive nature of the Sigma in the US is that you can walk into a shop today and buy it. The wait for this GM has been pretty painful.
I’m definitely picking up this GM, but considering the Sigma for small everyday carry. Can’t shake the thought that an X100V would be much better for that purpose, though.

Until this lens gets in the hands of U.S. consumers, you're not going to see many images here. I think a lot of the images posted are more or less test shots, nothing too artistic or creative.

I bought the Sigma this morning. Still have the GM order in place buts survival rate right now is slim. I ordered the Sony a week or so ago. How long would I be waiting June July August. Who knows I'm not that comfortable with that
