It's incredibly sharp. Has an amazing rendering style. It focus breaths pretty heavily, the field of view will decrease as you focus more closely. Minimal LoCA. Rendering in nearly all manner looks just like the 24 GM.
Sunstars seem mediocre at best.
As the person that just recently bought your 24mm f/1.4 GM to regain my favorite lens, I am extremely excited to see this new 35mm GM.

Find out why the f1.4 G Master is Sony's best 35mm lens yet!
Wow! Not many reasons to prefer the big Sigma I guess (besides $$$)...
... but the center sharpness test (?t=751) seems a bit off to me, I don't rememer Sigma being that soft at infinity (I don't have R4 to test though)... Well maybe it's not the Sigma being soft, but Sony being that much sharper .

Zooms should have no place in a hobbyists bag. They don’t get an image, they make it.

Yep, this is where I'm at too...price and the fact that I have a Tamron 28-75 I need to get listed (just don't use zooms much) would make it an easy switch $$-wise, and I could still keep the 24 GM. But the CV 40 is so nice for landscapes...

Wow, just read cameralabs review and looked at their samples. Looks like Sony delivered and I’ll be buying. Focus breathing seems only downside (I do some video).
Now for the 50GM and I am set with 24,35 and 50 GM which is 99% of what I shoot (rest are utility focal lengths for me).
Of course I hope everyone gets such great Sony lenses in future at their preferred focal lengths. Seems like Sony is headed there eventually!

Mine arrived yesterday. Never lost interest in a lens that quickly! Thankfully I have a friend which would like to have it. Will keep onto it until I receive a 35GM. The 35 1.4 ZA will be up for sale tomorrow. Fred Miranda wrote:
