I am one of the many soon-to-be orphaned DP Review members who will likely migrate here to FM in the coming weeks since DPR will cease to exist as of April 10, 2023. I've had an account here since 2016, but in an effort to simplify my photography life I stopped posting on 3 of the 5 forums I had joined and remained active only on Flickr and DPR. I have visited FM numerous times over the years when searching for key information and was always impressed by the quality of the info, images and the civility of the discussions.
I am a wildlife photography enthusiast in Ottawa and have used Nikon DSLRs for the last 12 years until last Fall when I switched to the Canon mirrorless world and bought an R5 and a RF100-500 L USM. I made this move because I have been interested for a while in doing short wildlife videos and the Canon R5 seemed to me to be the best choice. So here I am. Since you'll likely be flooded by new members and might have concerns about how this will impact FM, let me assure you that I'm conflict-averse, have never trolled, and try to be helpful whenever I can.

Rudy,
Was sorry to read about DPR shutting down. Since you are interested in short wildlife videos, Steve Perry Backcountry Gallery website has started a video forum in his forum section of his website.
Wow, that's great news, I've watched Steve's instructional videos for years, even books some of his e-books. I'll check this out immediately. Thanks so much for the heads up.
I'm happy to hear that you are also doing short WL videos with the R5. We'll gave lots to share and talk about.
Update: Hi again Dave, I can't seem to find Steve video forum. The link you posted is to his website homepage, but I could find an emerging wildlife video forum.

At top of page is a link that says Forums. Click it and it goes to a list of all forums. If that does not work, maybe they show a different page to folks who have not "joined?" the forums.
Edit: I used a different browser that my log-on is not saved, and it worked. So that should work for you.
