Here are two really quick shots. I had to shoot in JPEG to get Lightroom to recognize the files. The first shot is SOOC. The second I did a couple adjustments on. I realized it wasn't tack sharp on the eyes, but I've only got about 5 minutes before I have to get back to work. Hopefully I can try it on some birds after work. Taken with the RF 50/1.2.
If someone has some time. Page 440 is new to me. Does the 1DXIII have this. How does this tie in with Tracking Sensitivity? I can do that setting TS to +2
Looks good. I think the EVF refresh rate factory settings is power saving or 60 fps. On Page 276 of then manual it says "You can select the performance parameter to prioritize in shooting screen display for still photos".
I'm assuming that Smooth is for Stills only because there is no other info. If you are in Smooth and start burst shooting does it kick into Power savings? It you have some time explore it that would be nice. No pressure. Lots to go over right and others will explore that as well. ...Show more →
Not sure, the option stays on Smooth after a burst. During the burst you can not see the difference between the modes. Today I was on Power savings. The statement in the manual about the still photos is strange

Thanks. No more questions today

Good info. I guess if it does not effect it than all the better. That is the problem with these manuals. Who writes and translates them.
I hope a Canon ambassador produces tutorial video's on proper settings for different types of desired shooting.
Mark Galer who is a Sony ambassador does a stand up job with this. He helps you get your setting's correct for the type of shooting you are doing on Utube
I have had mine since lunchtime. I have shot5 some kids at a camp.
So in action, running and ball tracking. Works great.
My first takeaways:
1. Having shot with all Canon bodies, but mainly 1D series, including my current 1DX III, I cannot believe how quite the camera is. Even at 12 FPS using the shutter. So more more issues shutter noise issues for you bird folks.
2 The EYE AF does not work with a mask. You need to see the nose and mouth. Otherwise you have bouncing blue squares over the face.
