I am taking a break from posting but I keep shooting. I have been visiting Fred Miranda for quite a while but rarely have anything to add to the discussion. I was toying with the idea of acquiring the Olympus 150-400 even if the AF system might not be on par with other system. What worries me the most is the quality of the bokeh. Let me know if you have used the lens. I did not know you were posting here. Will look you up. Hope the rest of your Summer is great. Your macro work is awesome! ...Show more →
Thanks ! Same too you
you start posting soon again and I'm really looking forward to that you have fantastic pictures,
I have only tested 150-400 for one day and then only for macro and semi-macro images.. it is a fantastic lens, however I have not tested it for birds and other
However, I think you will be disappointed with 4/3 for exactly the type of pictures you usually take .. as your canon 600f4 gives a better and nicer bokeh
So it is possible to take nice pictures even with 4/3 for sure .. but you have to think when taking the pictures with the backgrounds. if you want those really creamy backgrounds that I know you like
I really like the system which has a lot of advantages against fx as well
I don't favor anything, everything has its good sides as well as bad
Nikon, Sony and Canon and Olympus
I suggest you test before a change
I know you have good camera stuff .. certainly bigger and heavier 600 f4 mark II against an >Olympus 150-400
maybe a new camera body? New R5 II?
maybe exchange your 600 for the new mark III instead and put the money there? there are many options .. haha Sony maybe
A1 and 300 GM with Tc ?
Geoff produces images as he had 600 GM on all the time
Honestly, that is an amazing bear capture you have there. I've never seen anything like it as he's got the absolute perfect Playgirl pose going on. Definitely a classic you have there, nice work. I'm sure there will be many of internet memes created from this shot if you leave it out there for grabs.

I couldn't have paid him enough to give me that pose. I could hear my wife inside the house laughing when he was posing.
I thought this one was pretty funny as well. I think he fell asleep for a few moments.
Just because the new camera is out doesn't mean the old one isn't being used anymore, right? With the (for me) usual 9 month delay I finally sorted thru my Easter Island photos.
