I ordered the R5 two days ago and will get it next week. I haven't logged into FM because I haven't participated in any forums or read anything about new tech for many years and just remembered my membership and that it used to be my favorite forum. I'm far from looking through all the images posted in this thread, but I like what I've seen so far a lot.
This camera is what I've waited for for years actually - well I hope it is, it better be, but I actually like optical viewfinders and hope I can get used to the electronic one. I'm curious mainly because of the IBIS, because I don't like to walk around with a tripod and using any lens with stabilization should be amazing. I bought a Pentax 645Z for stills in 2014, which I absolutely adore for it's DR and the quality I get. Canon wise I exclusively own older EF lenses I've used on my old 5D2. I doubt they are a good match for that 45MP sensor of the R5, but if it's possible to get results that can challenge 645Z quality with RF lenses, I'll probably consider selling the Pentax system, some older EF lenses and buy RF glass. Feels good to be back guys. Please stay healthy and good light
A wayward visitor. Our GBH's usually migrate at the end of September/beginning of October and don't return until mid/late February or so. It appears to be fine and actually he/she and a neighbor are flying around but what this character is doing here in the Midwest is a mystery?
