1- With custom hold you cannot move the point around
2- If I use registered AF method (button press will toggle AF mode which is not great. I want to go back to zone once the button is releases. Anyway... ) and move the point around, then the custom function won't take you back to default mode.
When I get a bird in frame and since A9 doesn't have eye AF, it's hard and slow to manually focus in the eye of the bird. It was very easy with D500. The single point in MILC is 'weak' in this regard too. But that's a MILC issue. I remember a NG photographer lady mentioning this. It can hut at times while DSLR's AF unit is pretty 'strong' and almost never miss to focus if you use single point. But I'm not complaining about this as we have to accept this as future.
Gorgeous sunset, but why 48 frames when just 2-4 frames or even a single frame would do the job very nicely? The scene is not loaded with very fine detail.

You did notice the focal length right?
I shot that set handheld @ 700mm. The image below is what just a single vertical frame looked like. I was out waiting for the Swallow-tailed Kites to show up and was bored. The landscape shooter in me just couldn't pass up a great sunrise so I tried to quickly capture it with what I had with me. I switched over to MS and fired off a burst while I rotated around. I probably could have used less frames in the stitch but I'm lazy and was happy with the results just tossing them all in there.
If I would have had my landscape lens and tripod with me I would have done a more proper job but again, I was bored waiting for birds to show up.
Edit: Just for the hell of it I just tried selecting the required frames and it looks like 13 frames would have been enough. So yep, I got lazy.
